Default Wells Fargo Schofield On "The Virginian".

I watched most of The Virginian yesterday and a vengeful lawman was tracking guys down and killing them. He packed a real 5" Schofield and it had lots of closeups of loading and unloading. I wonder if it was from a rental house and if it was the same one used by Steve McQueen in Nevada Smith. Or in Alias Smith and Jones maybe.
I like the show but it is just so "sanitized" by todays standards. Perfect fitting clothes, Anderson fast draw holsters, and custom Colts. It's just typical 60's western fare but seeing that Schofield was a nice deversion.

You probley seen this one as I have posted it before. No beauty, but no doubt seen history. It is a 1870 or 1871 S&W American that has been cut down to about 5"s. It was found in a old barn that was being tore down at old stagecoach station I belive said around bozeman montanna. At least thats what my buddy who I traded a marlin mountie for 30 years ago said. Some old couple from montanna that he went to church with gave it to him. Many years ago I had a great uncle that ran a butcher shop next door to our country general store. He was a gruff character. I was hanging out there one day in the 40s a feller came in and wanted to cash a check. Probley to impress me, my uncle pulled out a beautfull american or most likely a schofield, bright nickle and not rusted at all, laid it on the counter and counted out some money, trying to look mean.
