Cool stool
Howdy,
I have a buddy who asked me to do a few little things for him.
In return he made this and gave it to me today.
The wood came from his great great grandfathers house built in the 1850's.
Dennis disassembled the house and put all the wood up for projects.
He makes these things using his G.G. grandfather's shavers bench and draw knives from that era.
COOL!

Thanks
Mike

Not just the logo but the fact that it was made with the mentioned wood and tools. That I find more interesting.

Friends like that are great. They are harder and harder to come by these days. Nice "seat". The history behind it is awesome.

I have a feeling Dennis's great great grandfather is proud. You have a good friend Mike!

SWEET! It's obvious that there is a lot of hand work in that. What a cool friend.

Thanks
Hi all,
Thanks.
I am glad we got the difference between cool stool and the opposite of cool stool cleared up.
Dennis is a hoot. He is one of my few friends that go way back to school in the late 60's that I still get together with.
He had made me a walking stick full of twisted flutes and a carved end.
I use it all the time.
The old vise he uses looks like something you would skin hides on. If I catch him on it I'll try to get a picture.
It has a "T" pedal in front and below the seat and you sit and push the pedal to hold your work. It is like sitting on a big pair of leg operated pliers.
Thanks again
Mike
