FINALLY got engaged, thanks for everyone's advice!
I've been gone from the forum for a while... I've just been very busy with the Air Force and school... and getting engaged. I asked for some ring advice a while back and finally found the right ring. My girlfriend loves it.. recycled platinum and a conflict free gemstone. Just her sort of thing.
Hopefully I'll be able to get back on here more often. School is quieting down for a bit.. not too much going on there.. and I shouldn't have any lengthy Air Force obligations for a while.
I feel like I need to get caught up, so I have a lot of threads to read!

Cool... I never knew a ring could guarantee that y'all will never have an argument. I need one of those!

USAF385:
I hope that your betrothed enjoys the shooting sports. Maybe you could get her a nice Lady Smith J-frame as a thoughtful engagement gift?
Congrats on your engagement and thank you for your service to the country.

I'm no dummy! Sure, it cost extra but when the guy told me this thing was guaranteed to prevent all arguments, I jumped on it!

She does enjoy shooting! Not as much as me, but she'll go out and shoot some .22s when I shoot. She's also nice enough to pretend to be interested when I show her new guns or pictures of guns online.

You've got a great girl there! That "pretended interest" thing when shown firearms from on-line sources is, in fact, an implied agreement that you are to go and buy whatever you were looking at. It's a proven fact: ask any married guy who has been blessed with a wife with similar traits to your finacee. The positive traits shown by your girl at this early stage of your relationship bodes well for your future gun collection (and hers).

Congratulations!
The experience of a friend of a friend of mine may not apply to your case, but if it helps anyone here about to be married, that is a good thing. Seems his wife-to-be was well aware that he was somewhat of a gun nut, so he wasn't surprised when she asked him just how many guns he owned. He said "Handguns or longarms?"
She said, "All of them."
He thought a minute, counted on his fingers, and looked down at his feet. "Thirty seven."
"Sounds like enough to me," said his intended.
Being a quick learner, he replied, "Yes, dear." Of course, he only owned six firearms at the time.
