I'll second that. I loved it when they thanked us squids "for the ride".
I always took great solace when TAD with the jarheads, that I could count on them bringing me home (usually in one piece!).

I was a federal agent and had the pleasure of going into many a military base. The "troops" at the front gate were always pleasant, but the MARINES were the only ones who saluted. I always liked that, not because I thought I was special, but because they KNEW they were! MARINES always impressed me.
