What's your "last gun of the year"?
DCWilson's thread about his very cool Colt Commando got me thinking that it might be neat to see what everyone elses "last gun of the year" might be. Post some pics and show us the one you managed to sneak in under the wire before you have to start paying for Christmas and worrying about taxes!
Here's mine, it's one of my grail guns, a DetonicsUSA StreetMaster. It's a full size (5") slide/barrel on a shorty CombatMaster frame, they were only made briefly before DetonisUSA closed up shop. I've been looking a long time but they're pretty rare, I've only found one other for sale and I was way too late. It's kind of been like looking for bigfoot - I've never actually seen one in person, other guys say they know someone who has, and the same half a dozen pics keep getting recycled around the interweb. Finally a guy on another forum hooked me up with a dealer that has three NIB!! Mine should be here on the 28th, it's going to be like Christmas all over again!

Mine is a Winchester Model 1892 made in 1892. I can't get over how nice it is. Yes, it has been restored.

The last chunk of steel I got this year was this Uberti Second model Dragoon. It is a fine piece of machinery.

Well, I had a tie.
These two came in the same day. The 4" from a forum member and the 2.5 from a neighbor who needed some Christmas cash.
Both 66 "no dash"...boxed.

Well, I had a surge, seven in the past 3 weeks. But the last may be the nicest. A 4" 29-3 (my first 4" Model 29). Its wearing shoes "borrowed" from my 28-2, as it came with a laser grip that thankfully, went away quickly:

A Model 13 3" round butt !!! Had one back in the early 80's and absolutely loved it. No idea why I ever sold or traded it but have been wanting another ever since. Finally found another last month... my last gun of the year and it's a keeper.

Well the year isn't over yet and 6 days can be a long time, but I think my last firearm of the year will end up be my M 27-2 5". I recently added a set of stag grips and a BK grip adaptor. I should be set until 2012, which is only 7 days ways .
Merry Christmas all.

I have to go back to 9/30/07 for the last gun I bought, a WW2 era M1 Garand, Springfield Armory. I just haven't bought much since I retired. Been in the selling off mode actually.

Sorry, no pictures. My M&P22 finally came in 2 weeks ago, and FINALLY the Browning 1911-22 came in Thursday. Long wait on both. The S&W shoots like a dream, Feels like the .40 except for the weight. The 1911-22 is beautiful, Small for my big paws, but will go nice with my Colt New Frontier .22, Mosquito, and my m-63. also the Stoeger .22 Luger. All in all, A good finish for the year.

I sold about 8 guns in the summer when money got tight, then turned around and somehow got 13+ to replace the ones I sold. My last gun this year was a camo H&R 10 guage turkey gun. I dont even hunt anymore but it looks cool!

Hmmm. -8 = +13. I like that kind of gun math!

A S&W of course
Been watching for a used one but ended up with a new 329 4" bbl
put a "X" grip set on it to replace the harder ones that came with it (and a set of wood is included). It is still a light wt and stings a bit. With less than full bore magnum loads it was not unpleasant. It's brothers, a 325 and 357 thanked me.

Several months ago a gentleman came by my table at a gun show and ask if I'd be interested in a pre-war .357 Magnum. Said he had the factory letter. As calmly as I could I told him I'd take it if he ever decieded to sell, gave him my card and waited.
About 7 PM on a rainy night in the middle of December I got the call. He's ready to sell if I can come by his house tonight.
Drove through a driving rainstorm and met with the seller at his home. He brings out a 95% Pre-War, Non-Registered Magnum,6" blue in a H.H.Heiser holster. Shows me the letter and everything matches the gun. Barrel length, stocks, King sights etc. The man says he needs $1000 for the gun. I left his house with serial number 61162 sheltered under my coat and three one doller bills left in my wallet. Merry Christmas!

625-8 PC
Here is the last S&W for 2011 a 625-8 PC. This makes my 7th 625. I took the 625 to Bullseye practice this week the target is shown in the picture. 50 feet one handed with my reloads 6.1gr of WSF over a 200gr LSWC.

As of right now, it's my wife's Talo Pink Platinum M&P 15-22 and mine is a Henry Golden Boy. But, there is a gun show at the State Farmers Market here in Forest Park on Dec. 31 plus the wife gave me a $100 gift card to Academy Sports. I'll let you know on Jan. 1st.

It's not a S&W but the wife gave me a Ruger Blackhawk convertable 38/357/9mm revolver in a 61/2" barell for Christmas, shot it this morning and it is Super.
I am a Smith guy but the Ruger is Sweet.

With luck it'll be an M&P9c, depending if the one my wife ordered gets in before the end of the year. Otherwise it was way back earlier this year with my 4003.

My last for the year was a rather nice M25-5 off a fellow forum member. I am just starting to reload .45 Colt to be able to feed it on a regular basis. It should get a work out this week.
Sorry no photos yet.
