Huh, no more pink slime in the hamburgers.
I wonder if they will taste funny now? Ponders.
For those wondering what "pink slime" is, a simple google search will turn up what makes up the ingredients of the concoction and that McDonalds will no longer have it in their burgers.

I, for one, am shocked that McDonalds would surreptitiously eliminate this nutritious element from their hamburgers. Who knows with what they've replaced it? I guess from here on out, I'll have to go to Taco Bell to find tasty, wholesome, meat-like products.

Shouldn't we protest and demand they put it back?
I mean, like, shouldn't we GET what we pay for?

Lee, if you're eating at McSlop, you're probably getting a lot more than you pay for, except flavor.

Not to sound like a health nut or anything but I've stopped eating in fast food places years ago. Not that I ate at any one place regularly but I regularly ate food from pizza places, Chinese, McDy's, often drank soda....I went from 170lbs to 230. When I stopped eating at those places, started buying quality meat at grocery stores, watching my portions and dropping soda I lost that weight. Went back to my 170ish lbs. And honesty I dont miss it because I ate it mostly due to laziness of preparing my own food. And its cheaper! I still go to bars and drink beer and liquor and eat there too but now I think twice before ordering just anything.

My favorite chain is Logan's Roadhouse, and my favorite meal is the 8 ounce filet cooked medium with a baked sweet potato and cinnamon apples. I'll have a Shiner Bock or a Sam Adams with it, too.
Don't go there very often!

Heck, if I started eating more fast food, I'd lose weight... problem now is the wife and I are both good cooks and don't mind making a good meal at home.

Is it possible that this ingredient is the reason I must IMMEDIATELY go to the bathroom after eating a McD burger? Furthermore, does this mean that my "Big Mac" cure for constipation is no longer a option?
It's a double edge sword.

Ya know,
I had never heard of pink slime or ammonia-infused beef for hamburgers...
We have a local packer kill our ranch raised beef, so no slime.
BTW, if'n you ever saw what they drag off'n the trailer at the big commerical packers
for fast food gut bomb burgers...That why I don't eat 'em all that much.

Dave

This might mean that when the wind blows from the north I won't be ready to puke. Nothing smells like that place and I'd like nothing more than if I never smelled it again. Thank God the wind usually don't come from there.
Disclaimer, I like burgers and fries.....and a lot of other things that ain't good for me but Mc D's is the worst. Plus Ronald is gonna show up on the creepy list sooner or later.

My favorite meal at McD is the deluxe salad with grilled chicken. I do eat their burgers once in a while. I didn't know about the pink slime. I feel a bit revolted that I ever ate that stuff. Call me naive (or stupid) but I am also feeling betrayed.
Shame on you Mickey D!!

I never really did either, especially after the "contest incident" that I was involved in about 40 yr's ago.
A friend & I were walking by a local Mickey D's when he said, come on, I have an idea! I wish I woulda ran the other way.
We go into Mickey D's and he pulls out a $10 bill and spends it all on their regular burgers, which cost something like 15 cents apiece back then. I know we walked out of there with bags of 'em then headed to his house so he, read we, could follow-up on his brilliant idea.
A one on one hamburger eating contest!!
I don't remember who won or who lost, all I know, is from that day forward I never looked at those Golden Arches the same way again.
You know, I've done a lot of dumb things in my life, but that has to rank right up there with the dumbest....

I can't act all disgusted since I still eat bologna sandwiches and grill hotdogs and we all know that those are worse.

I went to some new outfit around here the other day called Five guys burgers and fries. It was pretty good, at least compared to Mcdonalds, Burger King, etc. Except the portions were too big. I learned right quick to not order a 'large' fry, and to order a junior burger instead of the regular burger.

Gotta agree with cajunlawyer, Mc D's fries are the best.

diet for meat protein.

Five Guys makes a pretty decent burger, and yes... it may sound sissy ordering the junior... but the regular is a double patty. I'm not sure how to feel about a regular being a gut buster burger. But their fries are good and they use fresh cut everything right their in front of you.

Even if you don't eat fast food, odds are that you've eaten pink slime burgers. By some reports 70 percent of the hamburger meat in America (at least up through last year) had pink slime as an ingredient. It lowered the cost of ground beef by approximately three cents per pound.
I ate at McDonald's yesterday. There's a Hot Wheels car in the Happy Meals. Good deal. They really need to offer the toy as an option with any meal though. Or make every meal a Happy Meal perhaps.

Reminds me of when the kids were little and mini Beanie Babies were the craze. Standing in line with all the other obsessed people and ordering 5 or 6 Happy Meals just to get the Beanies. Threw away the food. One time a big construction guy was waiting forever just to eat, I gave him all the food after we picked out the Beanies!

Sorry Maximumbob54, I completely disagree, I will take a quality hot dog or bologna sandwich any day before I touch a BM. It's initials say it all. And I think Ronald has been creepy for years, and that's just for pushing that creepy food.

You guys crack me up...LOL . Whoever's expecting healthy food (whatever that is...I still haven't figured that out yet) is probably expecting virgins in a whorehouse, too. I know when i go to McDonald's, or any other chain restaurant (Red Lobster, Applebee's, etc.), I know I'm getting processed, microwaved food. I don't eat a lot of fast food, but I don't go in expecting haute cuisine (look it up...).
Love it or hate it, but I'll tell you the absolute best cheeseburger I ever had was one in a ****** little AAFES snack bar in Hohenfels that was across from the motor pool after two weeks of ARTEPs in the middle of January.

Burger King gave away a set of three or four small green toy soldiers - rather nice ones too - when the original Toy Story was out. I was in college at the time, but when I saw what the toy was, I added a cheeseburger kids meal to my pile of semi edible meat and meat like products. (I lived on Burger King food, six days a week, for around three years. The trick is to drink a quart of Tang mixed double strength so as to avoid scurvy.)

I wouldn't put Five Guys anywhere near the lowly rankings of those two. They use good quality meat and cook it right there in front of you, not cooked and put in a bin until they nuke it. Their fries are great. Yeah, don't order a large for sure!!! You can split a regular size with the wife and still have leftovers.
