Worst autos you have ever owned
My 2 wosrt were first a p345 bought at a pawn shop. The pistol went back to Ruger twice before finally fixing the feeding problems,Ruger said the magazine disconnect was messed up the first time from dry firing without a magazine in the pistol and the second time they replaced the extractor. and it looked unfired when I purchased. And the second was an HK 4 imported by H&R with 22 conv and nice wooden box with gold plating and tools. My local GS had this for 350 and I really wanted that model Hk for 20 years and when I finally got to shoot it it stovepiped everytime, when i took it apart the reversible firing pin was broken and there was some sort of plastic buffer wedged between barrel and top of slide, thank the maker for Numerich as they had a firing pin.And it seemed to work ok after that.I sold both pistols and thats the 2 I had problems with .

My worst was my very first. I turned 21 in the military and celebrated by buying my first pistol. Being on a tight budget of $600 a month, I bought a Jennings 380. I was so excited, took it to the range and had many FTE's. Got it back to the dorms and field stripped it to clean. Obviously Break Free didn't like the plastic safety, and it completely disintegrated. Luckily the gun store took it back, and I bought a Colt 1991A1, which I still have today and it is now considered my first pistol.

I've had a bunch and can't recall a really bad one, though I had a Cz50 .32 ACP with about a 25# DA pull and bitchy recoil that I guess I would nominate if I had to come up with one. I also blew up a 1911 once but I think that was ammo, and I rebuilt the gun and still have it.

SCCY CPX-1. There is not enough bandwidth on this forum for me to describe how lousy this pistol was.

A Taurus model 66.
Learned my lesson, no more low quality firearms for me.
I have never been displeased with any of my S&W's.

It was brand new when I bought it.

AMT Hardballer 1911 5". This was back in the 70s. I know I could get it to work properly now. But then I had no clue. Many FTF problems.

My most unsatisfactory auto was a Glock 17. I won't repeat the whole tale here, see: A Love Story

I've had bad luck with Taurus autos. Their price point is amazing, but there's a reason for that.

The two worst guns I have ever owned were a Ruger P89DC and a 3rd Gen Glock 22. The first was so bad that Ruger bought it back from, the second (when I retired it permanently) was on frame number two, slide number 2, barrel number 2, striker number 3 and extractor number 3. What survived is now a dedicated Glock/TacSol .22LR. The rest of it went into the garbage.

Kimber. Three of them. All overpriced, overhyped, rusting single shot junk. Malfunctioned with every combination of mags and ammunition I tried. Never again. And yes I'm aware of the handful of folks who love theirs and claim it never malfunctions, good for them!
Para Ordnance LDA 45. Sweetest trigger I ever squeezed on a poorly/cheaply made, overpriced ***. I wish Colt had done this concept, I'd be carrying one today. Amazing trigger. Too bad the pistol came apart due to its cheap construction. Regards 18DAI

Colt Gold Cup National Match. Bought it new in 1985. Tried every combination of powder and bullet I could think of and never got a whole magazine full onto a paper plate at 25 yards. I worked like a slave on an assembly line for the money to buy that gun and it was nothing but a major disappointment. I sold it a couple of years later. I got into college and needed stuff for school more than I needed a .45 that wasn't as accurate as a wrist rocket.

My worst auto was probably my first one, a '69 Chevy Malibu that I bought from my older brother. By the time I sold it it was only ten years old with only about 80,000 miles on it, but it had one cylinder that continually fouled the plug, the seat fabric was completely deteriorated by sunlight, the driver's side window crank was stripped, radio didn't work, cracked vinyl dash, rusting paint, broken speedometer cable, totally corroded radiator and heater core, would wear out a set of tires out in 10,000 miles, and any number of other things.
Thank goodness they don't make 'em like they used to.
Gun-wise, an AMT .380 DAO Backup. Heavy with a trigger pull that'd choke a horse, and unreliable to boot. Got rid of it in a trade for a nifty Coonan Model B .357 Magnum auto.

My worst was a 1980's vintage Bersa .380. I do not remember the specific model, but it was a horrible ***. The single action pull was over 20 pounds. The DA was basically unworkable. I would estimate about 40 pounds. I am not exaggerating. It made a Keltec P11 feel like a tuned match grade trigger.
Runnerup was an Iver Johnson TP-22, the little PPK lookalike in .22LR. It actually was bad in only one respect, the hammer would eat your hand up. I have small hands for a guy, and even I could not get anything resembling a normal grip, without gouges being torn in the web and back side of my hand. Which was a shame, it looked good for a cheap pistol, and was reliable. But I got rid of it post haste.

Guess I've never really had a bad one. My first auto was a little FIE Titan .25acp that probably cost me something like $35-40 brand new in 1967. I never had a jam or misfire with it, believe it or not. The one I liked least was a Czech CZ-52...sold that one at a gunshow for what I had in it and was glad to see it go.

A 1964 Fiat 600.....................
Now if you want to talk about guns, it is a toss-up between an original AR-7 "Survival Rifle" (one of those that stows in the butt stock) Jam Special. The other was another Armalite, an AR-15 (M15) Heavy Barrel with a 1 in 9 twist. I tried every bullet weight and load known to man and could not get that rifle to group any less than about 3 inches at 100 yds. It had to have a bad barrel or something.

For me it would be a S&W built Walther PPK/S,
a true "jam-o-matic" if there ever was one.
I used to keep the PPK/S in the glovebox of the
worst automobile I ever owned, a 1983 Chevette.
It was a match made in heaven.......

The worst semi-automatic pistol I ever owned was a Browning Challenger II. It simply would not reliably feed and eject, regardless of the brand of .22 LR ammunition used. I traded it for (get this now... hold your breath and smile) a S&W 18-2. The store owner ordered it for me swapping even for the Browning. I was thrilled. One of the best trades I've ever made.

Agree about the Fiat. No really bad auto pistol. Probably an Iver PPK lookalike. Shot OK but finish wore really fast.

Worst one I have owned so far was a S&W 4566STW. Boy did I really want to like the gun, but it POI was always way below POA, and after trying 3 different grips on it and S&W replacing the front sight with a shorter one--my grouping still looked like I had been shooting buckshot. Sold it, and bought a S&W 1911. Complete night and day, first clip I was on center and grouping--well as good as I've ever shot.

You made me wished I kept my Titan .25. I also had a Raven .25 that was great shooter too.
The worst? Jennings .22 auto. What a piece of ****. I took it back and the dealer didn't have any more so I picked up the Raven.

Star and I think the model was a BKM in 9mm. It had a tendency to jam (round would hang up on the feed ramp) and had the early 70's alloy frame that cracked.

A S&W 41 .22 purchased new in the 1970s. It had the 7 3/8" barrel with the muzzle break. When I first shot it, it hit 18" left at 25 yards. Upon closer inspection, I found the barrel was warped, curved to the left. I sent it back to S&W. S&W bent the barrel straight, but the grooves on the top were no longer straight. It didn't shoot very well. Then the trigger went out at 150 rounds. I sent to S&W, they fixed it. The trigger went out at another 150 rounds. Back to S&W. I put a 5 1/2" heavy barrel on it and it shot OK.
I had others that shot better and had a better trigger.
I never did enjoy that gun and after a few years I sold the 5 1/2" barrel and then the sold the 41 with the 7 3/8" barrel.
I can also talk about some S&W revolvers with bent frames or broken hammer studs that soured me on S&W for 30 years.

I had the same exact results but to clarify. mine was the S&W version. I can't speak to those imported by "Interarms".

Taurus PT 40. It wasn't a bad pistol as far as reliability or accuracy, but the rear sight would only adjust so far. I couldn't adjust it enough to get it to shoot to point of aim, so I sold it.

I had an Interarms PPK/S back in the '80's. It bit the web of my hand enough for me to trade it for a Model 60.

I've had three, and amazingly enough they were all the same brand, AMT! My long slide hardballer was so unreliable it wouldn't have made a good fishing weight. Then came ...not one,but two AMT .22 mags,a longer barrel and a shorter one. I tried everything but gold plating them to get them to feed! When they did feed they were very poor in the accuracy department. I was able to sell the long slide Hardballer to a gent that wanted one real badly, but the reputation of the .22 mags preceded them and I lost a little on those pistols.A LEO friend had an AMT "Backup" that wasn't much good as I remember.I don't reckon I'll be buyin' any more of those things in this life! Beretta Storm carbine (never had a auto pistol that had issues). I saved up money for this gun and it would not even keep mags in it. I had the adaptor and set up for Beretta 92 mags and even with factory high cap mags in it they would not stay in the gun, they would not seat at all. I brought the gun back to the shop and there was actually a Beretta rep in the shop. The guy told me that the problem was the mag release, which was a wire job. With a high cap the extra weight of the rounds made it fall out or not seat. So the rep told me to take the release out of the gun and bend it so it would fit. I told him I should not have to be fixing anything on a brand new gun. It didn't stay long.

With a high cap the extra weight of the rounds made it fall out or not seat. So the rep told me to take the release out of the gun and bend it so it would fit. I told him I should not have to be fixing anything on a brand new gun. It didn't stay long.

Beretta's are usually good guns, but you are right about their service. I know of 2 large guns shops who have threatened to stop carrying Beretta's because of the Customer Service issues. I had an experience similar to yours as well on a PX-4. No more Beretta's for me.

Springfield 1911 and a Colt 1911, could never get either to cycle reliably sold them and have never looked at the 1911 again. The M16a1 that was forced down my throat while in the Marine Corps was another hunk-o-junk, it jammed at least once per magazine, I hear after 40 years and 4 revisions I hear they finally got it where it might work.

First one was a 9mm Bersa, I sent it back two times for the same problem and the same problem recurred after each repair in about 100 rounds...sad part was it was very accurate....but just undependable! The second was a .22 Sig skeeter....nothing but problems replaced with a Ruger.

Mine was a little FIE .25 auto ..... I blamed the gun but looking back it was probably more the operator than the gun. Jam, Jam ,Jam. I guess a little cleaning would have went a long way.

Kel-Tec P3AT, FTE's went back to factory twice, never would extract reliably.
This was one of the early ones with the same slide as the P32. What worked fine for a .32 just wouldn't handle a .380 I guess. Everyone with the later slightly larger/heavier slide models says they work fine.

Seecamp. Total piece of junk. IF it fired it would keyhole 90% of the time with the ONLY ammo they designed it to work with, Silvertips.

An Interarms PPK/S that I traded for a 2" barrel 15-3. That was one of the best days of my life.
A 1961 MGA on the car side. You could slam the door and knock the timing out of whack.
