An Odd Pinto'ed Agent
Well today was the Dallas Market Hall gun show, so I figured I'd stroll in and make the usual rounds. In the back back back of the show was a strange Colt Agent, it appeared to be a Pinto. I picked her on up checked the mechanics, all good, then I checked the price, $299 goooood.
I asked the seller just what the hell had happened to this poor fella, he said that the previous owner had Bubba'ed up the finish and he was looking to move it quick. Well he was in luck I offered him $250 and in about five minutes walked out of the show with a seriously weird looking, but mechanically perfect Colt Agent.
I figure for a bad weather carry piece/truck gun it doesn't get much better than a Colt, especially for Taurus/Rossi money.
Forgot to mention, he threw in a box of Cor-Bon 110gr +P+ JHP's.

Can't argue with that.
Stuff like that is why I always make sure to go to every single table at a show, even if it's back all by itself in a mostly-forgotten corner. You just never know.
Great find!

You did fantastic. So he took the blue or whatever they do to the alloy frame off of it. That's not the best thing to do but since he did it, and you just happen to be the guy who came across it that way, you scored! These are the deals i look for to aquire great guns for low prices that you can use and wear out guilt free from now on.

A bit of Duracoat, Alumnahyde etc (or even the new Krylon flat black with primer) and it can have a reasonably durable and uniformly colored finish.

Well, just goes to show that even these days there are still deals to be had. There might just be some...."cosmetic challenges" that come with said deals .
Took her out today and put about 100 rounds of good ole 158 LSWC down the pipe. Took about 20 or so to used to the stacking Colt DA pull again, but after that it was smooooth sailing.
I also put a couple of those Corbon 110Gr +P+ down the tube of my 19-3. WOW. For a second there I thought I was shooting Magnums. Pretty sure the Agent would've not have liked that.

Back in the 1980s, when Davidson's was based in Greensboro NC and they'd have a huge sale every December, one year they had a large quantity of two-toned Colt snubs. Some had nickel frames and barrels with blued cylinders, and others were blued frames with nickel cylinders. Davidson's ad claimed that Colt had manufactured them that way but that they hadn't sold well at all. No doubt they're highly collectible these days.

Great find, great price. It's a little goofy looking, but I like it.
