Who has tried revolver spinning tricks?
I enjoy watching some of the trickery and quick drawing, but I suspect that it would take hours and hours of practice, lots of drops, and a sore finger / hand, to even get halfway decent.
I did find some plastic J frame replicas that a person could use to start with, for around $45 plus shipping. I doubt that I'll get into it myself. Being a guitarist, I'd think there is a chance for a sprained / broken finger, or risk of tendonitis.
Can anyone here do spinning or trick shots?

My index finger is messed up on my strong side. I wouldn't try to spin a gun on it. It's much more important to be able to make a living for me.
I used to play guitar a lot but my hands are hurting now. I was just laughing with a friend about the good times a couple of hours ago, We rocked a lot of parties back in the day.

I have done some trick shooting but I am by no means on the level of the exhibition shooters out there. I could cut a cigarette at about 7 yards with a revolver, I have cut a playing card albeit with a .22 rifle and a few other tricks. I never did alot of gun twirling except for a road agent spin but only with a single action revolver. It does take alot of practice, and being very safe and using common sense.

I used to do that kind of stuff when I was young, dumb, and full of enthusiasm. Never got all that good at it and I have a tendency to drop things now. Still point shoot OK though, but I haven't tried anything on the fly in a lot of years.....

remembering basic 'gun safety'
NEVER point a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot
DO NOT put your finger on the trigger till you are ready to shoot
Someone please 'splain how "twirling" is possible if you are still observing the safety rules.
Hollywood stuff is best left to Hollywood.

Here's the best guy I ever seen:
Gun Spinning - YouTube
I've been fooling around with gun twirling since I was a kid. My dad fiddled with it. I don't do it enough to learn new stuff much. Just refined some common spins but did learn the under the leg throw where the gun is then caught in the air with the weak hand. I still practice spinning once in a while, but only over the bed. As far as safety goes, I take the gun out of the safe assuming it's loaded which it isn't, then I double check the gun twice to make sure it's empty and then go for it. I can only spin with my left hand. And I use Colts of all standard barrel lengths. This guy here in this video is just nuts!

When I was in LE I also was in the AK NG. I had a guy in my unit who grew up on a ranch in Arizona. As a kid (and as he got older) did rope and gun twirling tricks and was quite good.
I always carried a revolver, normally my Model 28 Service Revolver, even at Guard Drills. This guy got me to playing with the revolver doing gun tricks, twirling 'n such. I was getting fairly good. Seems like every time I had the gun in my hand I was practicing.
Now back then we did our own building searches. Normally alone, but if the situation warranted we searched in pairs.
After this other cop and I completed a building search upon a report of a burglary in progress, he comes to my car, looks me dead in the eye and says if he ever sees me twirling my revolver while doing a building search with him again, he's going to take my gun and beat me to death with it.
That was the last time I did any gun tricks, I didn't even realize I was twirling the revolver.

Had a friend who got into the spinning and then thought he was good enough for fast draw and shoot. Shot two toes off his right foot.
