I knew the day would come and I dreaded it. The day I decided to relegate my beloved 27-2 to being a range gun and change my carry gun to something a little lighter and smaller.

I still plan to shoot the 27 frequently at the range and it's going to be the only gun I reload for.

I strayed far.....I found a deal on a Gen 4 Glock 17. Had been looking at a Glock off and on....never considered it seriously until I saw this one.

That said, I'm deeply sorry I have betrayed you all and I hope you will forgive me. :D

I have looked at Glocks many times and each time the answer is the same. The triggerguard bears on my right hand knuckle and is uncomfortable. I do have a S&W M&P9 and M&P22. Those feel great in my hand.
 
Congratulations on your new Glock. Nothing at all wrong with choosing the handgun that most appropriately fits your needs as they evolve. You know the assets and liabilities of your M27. You will come to know those of the Glock as well. One that you will quickly come to recognize is the ability to select different calibers and sizes within the same operational platform.

Just as the predecessors of the M27 set the parameters for hand ejector revolvers to come through the years, the G17 has become the archetype for pistols, now and in the foreseeable future.

I have three semi-auto pistols. Colt 1911, Sig P226, and Taurus PT99. I guess I strayed as well......

I guess I'm not counting a couple of Ruger Mark II and Mark III .22 pistols.....

But, I do have a fair number of S&W revolvers. :)
 
I do not put my S&W revolvers in a holster. That is why they still look new 20-30 years later. I have a M&P .45 ACP, and a HK USP .45 ACP. I have holsters for those and other plastic frame pistols.

Would you put this in a holster?

Glocks are fine guns. They have a proven track record and ride in the majority of the Nations PD's Officer's holster.

I have never owned one and probably never will. They just don't appeal to me. In fact I do not own ANY polymer gun! I am a Dinosaur and proud of it. My daily carry is a good old S&W M60-7 and since I am not on the front lines I feel it will serve me well should the need arise.

That said, I know I'm in the minority and I won't hold it against you. :)
