Talking There I was minding my own business

Went to Shooter's today after I cut the lawn was walking by the used gun counter looking and not expecting to see anything worth while and I saw a Colt blue government model. I took a closer look the tag said $599.99 I looked even closer it said 9mm.

I asked Chris to see it and he handed it to me and I looked it over really good and no cracks scratches and no major issues, I asked what was wrong with it and Chris said "nothing" So I dug out my wallet and bought it. I pick it up later this week I got to stop doing looking at the counter eyes straight ahead I just went there to buy ammo.

The other clerk said the trigger was rough, it felt fine to me.

My gawd, I can't even start to count the number of times I've used those very words to explain my behavior in any number of varied circumstances. Ie. boss I was just sitting there minding my own business, when ........

Enjoy that new 9.

It's like when you go to the grocery store. When you are loading up the car you suddenly find all these packets of cookies have jumped into your cart.

It's happened to me with guns, but I doubt anything will trump the time I went into a bike shop looking for cork grips for my DL1, and came out with a new Surly Pugsley.

Went to the LGS for some .45 ammo last Tuesday, spent $730.00 and came home without any ammo

Went back last Friday and spent $540.00 and came back with no ammo

Getting old isn't any fun, always forgetting what I initially went to the LGS for

Don't know why you'd want a surly one. Most of the Pugs I've met were very friendly dogs... :rimshot: I'm here all week.

Don't feel bad.........I went into a LGS looking for USGI ammo cans......they didn't have any. I wound up buying 35 pounds of powder and two guns for a fast $1900. You'd think I'd learn!

I think you made a wise choice. I would have bought a Colt 1911 in about any caliber for that price.

My one LGS always has the ol saying, "You know we do layaway"

Which turns into a couple of guns and on the "layawake" plan, which is when you lay awake all night wondering how your gonna pay for it all!

Question Childish whines

Why are you crying, whining, and complaining? You are old, can't take the money with you, and you need more stuff! Besides, you had the money in your pocket -- you didn't use a credit card to finance the purchase for 18 months @ 23 % APR.

Just stop the snivelling.

I picked up a real nice High Standard riot gun today that I was not looking for for $100.00 OTD. For that price I wasn't gonna leave it there.

My "friend" who owns the LGS also uses the line,
I'll put it back for you if you want." Unlimited time
frame layaway". So i reach in the wallet and give him
the 1-2 hundred i carry and i'm broke again.
And he knows i'll get the heebie-jeebies just knowing
the gun is sitting there all by its lonesome waiting
for me to come rescue it.
My "layaways" usually last about 2 weeks.

Chuck
