I remember how he stuck by his ex-wife and the mother of his kids after she accidently shot her boyfreind TWICE and got a week in an Aspen jail for it. He was before my time but seemed like a very laid bad guy who had an extremely soothing voice. May he rest in peace.

His wife was named Claudine Longet, and her lover was a ski bum named Spider Sabitch. The media of the time had a field day over the shooting for quite a while, but not up to the level of O. J. Simpson.

My family were not true Andy Williams fans. Dad liked jazz, Mum liked pop and I was into British heavy metal, but we all knew talent and class when we heard it. Andy had both in large amounts.
RIP the Man with Perfect Pitch.

I watched his television show all the time. Saw him in concert three times. Great voice and a gentleman. RIP Andy Williams.

Even though I never was a fan that bought his music, whenever one of his songs came on the radio I never changed the station.
Had a great voice and seemed to me, a good man.
RIP Andy Wiliiams

My parents had a bunch of his albums, that were played regularly on the big old stereo in a floor standing walnut cabinet in the living room.
While I wasn't a big fan, I always loved 'Moon River', and some of his other 'standards'. I can remember doing homework at the dining room table, while Andy Williams played in the background. It is soothing music.
The man had a lot of talent, and was a class act. He worked his way to the top, unlike many 'instant phenoms' in later days.
I respect people who truly EARN their place in American music.
