Default Nickel wheel guns...I may be developing a problem.

Well, as I posted in an earlier thread, I recently picked up a nickel Model 19-3. Well today I traded into a nickel Colt Detective Special. All I need is a martini and a fedora and I'm ready to battle the Mob for control of Las Vegas.

Very nice. I've been thinking my next revolver should be nickel. I had a nickel D.S. like yours thirty years ago but traded it away.

Oh heck yeah, like me some nickel guns, especially the wheelies! Only have two (both 10-6), but have a SS 66-1 and a SS 629-5.

Had a nickel 29-2 that I carried for a couple years. Got stupid and sold it (though it did finance my .308 AR). I will get another fancy dress gun one of these days.....

I got on my flame retardant long johns so fire up the flame thrower.
I don't like nickle for a finish--either the color or the protection provided. I much prefer hard chrome.

I think the problem is probably growing, but I think I'll choose to go into denial and refuse any treatment.

I was a blued gun guy until I had generally filled all the slots and had multiples of 5 screw blued Smiths. I started to look at nickel guns about 2 years ago. A friend was changing from collecting Smiths (Boo) to collecting cowboy action guns and he had a bunch of nickel Smiths. the prices were right and he had started his collection about 30 years ago and the nickel guns were pristine. So, to make a long story short I have started a second collection of nickel Smiths.

When I was a young man, I used to think nickel guns looked like 5 and dime cap guns. I have a nickel 19-3 now and love it!

My three new S&W N Frame revolvers are in nickel a m57, m58 and m24. I only found a new S&W M29-10 in blue at half price. I prefer the famous S&W mickel finish. My wife and two sons just went thru the CCW course and the teacher said he perfers the shiney nickel or stainless finish because the bad guy can see the gun plus the size of the hole in the barrel too. This scares the bad guys.

My LGS said yesterday i can order any new S&W revolver i want in nickel too. I may take out a loan and get what i want all one shot.

My grail gun is nickel . . . and a stunner at that, IMHO . . .

I've gone full circle . . . starting with the S&W wheelguns in stainless, then nickel plate, then blue.

Today? I like 'em all . . . as long as they are pre-2002 lock models!
