Colonel,
Your handle suggests you may have expertise in this area, otherwise please forgive the intrusion.

I heard some comments the other day by a well-known former congressman and retired Army Officer, I won’t mention his name publically but I’m certain you would recognize it. At any rate, I was struck by the fact that his comments were precipitously close, if not an outright violation of Article 88 UCMJ. In fairness, the comments were in the context of bonafide politicking but contemptuous none the less.

Are members of the Retired Reserve engaged in genuine politics afforded a bit of latitude, with respect to Article 88? Or given the general tenor of our politics today, does no one care?
