The 2013 NHL Hockey Playoff Thread

There are a few other Pens people here...they have been missing lately though...maybe working some OT to buy Stanley Cup Finals tix and building up time off to attend the victory parade...lol...

I'm outside doing some yard work...just taking a little break...gotta get it all done so i can be cleaned up before the 7:30 routing of the sens. Malkin gets the HT tonight.....

to be honest though..i see the pens losing tonight...if they do, it may very well be their only loss of the series...

Who are the Pens playing tonight?:D
You know I'm only kidding with you.

All set for the game, 7:30 and away we go.
I'm a hockey fan;)

It looked like Tortellini was going to blow a gasket. It must be hard to play for a guy that doesn't back his players. He is blaming them for all the wrongs when much of it should come back on him.

How about those rookie B's? What will CJ do when his experienced players are healthy. It sure makes it easy to rest guys. Maybe they can just rotate out all the defense to rest them. Maybe give Chara a day off for rest.

this game(pens/sens) should be over...the 5 pens on the ice thought it was...dipsticks...

i saw torterella's after game "interview"...he is a tool. at some point the players will not play for him...see michel therrien for the pens...he was not nearly as ignorant as tortellini is. he absolutely falls into the category of "good at job, idiot otherwise". he'll be jobless eventually...

Once again gang, this is Stanley Cup Hockey.

What happened in the last game can change as fast as the New England weather.

The Bruins are up 2-0, as the Caps were, have to win 4 to move on.

The Red Wings? Who would think they would be 1-1 right now?
Strato maybe.

Hockey, such an enjoyable sport.;)

GO BRUGERS:)

Big game tonight! Home ice advantage is now with the Wings, and going up 2-1 might be huge in this series. Only game scheduled for tonight, so will everyone be watching?

Mini rant- NBC sucks. Not only do the announcers and analysts for both NBC and their Sports Network suck, but to make every game on their stations and not the local broadcasts? At least show it on both so I can listen to come competent announcers..though it is nice watching the Wings win on national TV :) Still, I'm debating sending my new bill for the upgraded Direct package to NBC, as the Sports Network is the only reason I did it..

LETS GO RANGERS

Don't get me started on NBC. They do suck.

The Bruins dominated especially in the third. The Rangers are lucky it wasn't 7-2. Boychuck and rookie Krug stepped up. It ain't over yet.

Looks like Ottawa wants to make it a series. I believe it is inevitable that the Pens will move on, though.

Key match up for us tonight in enemy territory. The real Blackhawks will show up tonight. Tonight will be an excellent game to watch. Coach Q will motivate. Bring it! GO HAWKS!!!

As much as I think the Hawks are a good team I still think the
Wingswill prevail.

I would like to see Pavel give the puck to an opposing defenseman and then take it back as he goes around them - amazing.

:rolleyes:Torts did his job again deflecting the attention off his players onto himself. So who really are the tools, the Media,or people who never played or coached the game of hockey for any amount of time weather its Pro, semi pro, or any discipline of armature hockey and make comments such as people here on this board and in the Media. You get what you get with Torts and That's why all the players who ever played for him with the exception of Marian Gaborik according to the Lame Stream Media Who by the way said the media was phishing when it came to his relationship not only as a player but as personal friend.

like i said...see michel therrien from the pens...remember a few years back...2008-2009 season when the pens had a long losing streak and were not even going to make the play offs? therrien was the same as torterella. a whining sore loser that blames every one but himself. he is not deflecting from the players, he is insulting them and they will realize that and not play for him....again, i say see michel therrien of the pens in the 2008-2009 season. the pens could not wn a game, yet as soon as bylsma came in, they won the cup. this is tortelloni's future if he keeps up his childish antics. you will tire of it then, even though you enjoy it now.

right now, there are only two people that i would like to see out of the NHL because they are a black eye for league...PK Sukkan and Tortoiseshelli.

the pens will take the next two...

and i after listening to the nbc announcers, I downloaded a pic of karllson and spezza, drew little hearts around them with my wife's lipstick and pined over it all night...lol..maybe not, but i think the nbc guys did...

Here's hoping they can take it back to Chicago up three games to one.

Let's go Red Wings

I don't see why they can't, they look pretty good to me.
I'm the underdog guy.;)

The Wings are sure turning this into an exciting series.

Heard the Wings keep watching the Boston Bruins comeback game #7 against Toronto.:)

Game four is going to be intense by the looks of how yesterday's game ended. Good old fashion rivalry, definitely one of the downsides to the Wings switching conferences next year.

Wings are getting great effort and production from their 3rd/4th line guys. Not 100% sure, but I don't know of another team still in it that has an all rookie line, and the Wing's have one that scores key goals.

On a side note, Pavel deserves the Selkie for his face-offs alone. The NBCSN announcers seemed pretty proud of themselves that they figured out what the Wings were doing (and felt the need to mention it every time) but his ability to win key face-offs against quality centers is unmatched.

It was an exciting game to watch, but Howard got the best of us.
Man, how many times were Blackhawks attempts soooo close, yet didn't go! 40 v. 30 shots on goal for all three periods. One disallowed goal. UGH!!

The first goal of the game scored by Nyquist was fairly impressive...he had to earn it. The next goal thirty seconds later....not so much. Our man Crawford had difficulty last night.

Thursday night.

Well...it seems I stepped in front of a Rangers - Pens management spat.

That darned Howard and his posts kept getting in the way
Still - Too many bad passes (giveaways) and Andy S spending most of the game in the box  tying up the Hawks' game.
OTOH - We were flat again - kinda like a V-10 running on 7.

I'm not sure what's going on, but Q better get things back on track or else..... :(
