I've had an account for 8 years or so. They have been very good. Really. No flood of adds on/off site. No Emails, no passing out my email (that I know of.) My only gripe is that like many websites, they change their format every now and then. Just enough to keep this old guy looking for stuff that used to be RIGHT where i left it !.

I use it and have no problems either. Like Dave said, the
changing of the format from time to time is the only headache
i've encountered.

They changed up the site a while back and I still don't like it. Just don't seem to work as good.
As for your questions, no I have not been flooded with e-mails or anything like that.

During one of the format changes my privacy settings got changed and my library was open to anyone that clicked on a picture. It made me paranoid enough that I deleted most of my gun pictures and always make it a point to log out when I leave the site. I still use them but I don't trust them.

I am well qualified to answer this one! I have used it without much trouble----until about 3 weeks ago. Evidently its free long enough to get you sucked in by about 500 pictures. Then I was warned my storage is full. It kind of was a gradual thing. Now I am locked up and cant advance pages. There is different levels of storage. I think it is $2.99 a month for the first level. Evidently I am locked out of my own pictures now unless I pay. Kapish?

It used to be decent until the latest format change has made it pretty much slow and unuseable.

I've never heard of them doing anything like that. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am nowhere near 500 pictures so I can't comment on that. I have had a FREE account there for 8-10 years. They sometimes ask you IF you want to upgrade. I just decline.

Here ya go. I also thought I could cheat and deleat. Now I cant even do that. All this worked fine untill now. It was kind of a gradual thing too. Sometimes things worked and than wouldnt. The danger is not haveing the pictures elsewhere. My first page of about 20 pictures come up but I cant advance to my other stored 480 pictures! Now to see them I have to cough up. Kapesh? I havent yet.

Someone mentioned you can't delete any longer. I just deleted 4 or 5 this morning. Put your cursor on the picture, then move to the "gear" that appears, and a window will drop down and one of the options is "delete". Click on that and a new window opens asking you to verify you want to delete, click Yes and the picture goes away.

I have tried that and it did work for a few pictures about 3 weeks ago when I first got my first warnings that my account was all but full. Now, even that wont work for me!

I just went and checked and I currently have 1,749 pics in my various library albums, which is actually quite a bit fewer than it once was. Never had any trouble accessing any of them. I also use the "free" version. I've also had an account there for at least 8 years, maybe more. CRS,you know?

they do have a pay service.

If you use heavy bandwidth, they will limit use. When I was selling on craigslist, I would bump the rev limiter once in a while. It was like 25 bucks for a year to upgrade. It included some extra tools that made it worth the upgrade. You could see which sites where driving the hits to your pics, and which pics were getting hits.

For casual use, just use the free version.

I dont understand this computer stuff. I think I have like 480 pictured on photobucket. However I have been posting a lot of them many times on these gunsites. Does all the "hits" of people looking at them somehow use up some of my freeby limits?

That doesn't make sense either Merril. I've posted hundreds of pics here and elsewhere.

yes, every time someone looks at your pictures (loads a page with your pic on it) PB has to upload it. Bigger pictures use more bandwidth.

Think of it as a glass of water. Every "look" is a drink from your glass. Small pics are sips, big pics are gulps. When you run out of water for the day, you are cut off. Unless you pay for extra refills on your glass.

casual users generally will not hit the limit.

That is how they make money..... and ads of course.

The cost of a PLUS account varies according to how much storage you need!

The pricing is as follows:

•2 GB - Free
•20 GB - $2.99 / Month, $29.99 / Year
•50 GB - $4.99 / Month, $49.99 / Year
•100 GB - $8.99 / Month, $89.99 / Year
•200 GB - $16.99 / Month, $169.99 / Year
•500 GB - $39.99 / Month, $399.99 / Year

When you upgrade to PLUS:

•Your account has more storage for your media, and also unmetered bandwidth.
•Your account and your links to third-party websites remain active for the duration of your PLUS subscription.
•If you had a free account (or PRO account) on the previous version of Photobucket, you will get the additional GB on top of what you've already stored. About 5 months ago-I finally learned how to use and joined photo bucket. I too liked the older look to it better-now im having slightly more problems using it but--still usable. No complaints on my end since its free.
