Default Checkpoint Charlies Review

So I just thought I would write up a little review of a dealer I recently did business with seeing as there doesn't seem to be any reviews of him out of on the internet. I for one always like to check reviews of places before I order stuff from them so I might as well give back a little.

His collection of WW2 German small arms is quite large and his prices are very reasonable. He also has a number of Allied weapons as well. The url for his website is: CheckpointCharlies.com - WWII, military & collectible antique guns, firearms & militaria and the Luger forums highly recommend him.

Pros:

The item I purchased was quite beat up, but I knew that going in, but honestly it was in better shape than his description lead me to believe, so perhaps he is one of these dealers that underestimates the quality of his products (not saying that's a bad thing, that is what I prefer). Every time I contacted him I spoke with him on the phone directly, very nice guy and very easy to do business with. The gun was nicely packed and shipped in a case. The entire process of ordering and shipping was done very quickly. I purchased it on monday at 2pm and it was shipped at the end of that business day. Arrived at my local FFL wednesday.

Cons:

The website can be a little difficult to navigate at times as the listings of the weapons do not have the prices listed unless you go to the actual page with the weapon. Not a major deal, but an inconvience. Secondly, most items only have one picture but he will provide more pictures if you ask, again not a big deal but inconvenient. Lastly the listings are very spartan, simply condition, make and model in most cases. So if you know what you want to buy, it's not a big deal, but if you were looking for your first Luger or walther, it pays to read up before going to the site. However, if you call him he will answer any questions you have about the items.

Overall:

I would recommend for anyone interested in WW2 era small arms to take a look at his site and I would not hesitate buying from him again. I'm pretty sure my first Luger will come from him unless I find something amazing locally. All in all, 4.5/5, a few improvements on the website and it would be a 5/5 easily.
