Houston Gun Show
I will be in Houston at the end of March and learned there are two gun shows that weekend. I will have only a half day to spend at one or the other.
One is at the G R Brown Convention Center and the other is in Pasadena. Both are about the same distance from where I will be.
Would one be better than the other? I really prefer to visit with other patrons in the aisle rather than dealers.

The Brown show is a little larger (better) than the Pasadena show.
There is also a larger selection of jerky and trinkets at the Brown.
However parking isn't free as is at Pasadena, except on Sunday at the curbside meters.
Think the Brown show is the middle of the month.

Ive only been to one in Houston--the one at the Brown Cov/ Center--and it was pretty good. However, that was when I went about 11 years ago.

I set-up for the G. Brown show.
It is March 15-16...
The show has really grown last couple years.
Much bigger now than Pasadena.

One site said the G Brown show was on 3/29 & 3/30 the same date as the Pasadena show. I guess that was not correct?

Both dates are correct for G.R. Brown. The show sponsor for the 15th - 16th GRB show will be in Pasadena on the 29th -30th. A different sponsor will do a show in GRB that same weekend. The GRB shows are bigger than the Pasadena shows, but parking cost is about $10 around GRB.

I have been to the one at GRB convention center and I will never go back there. It may be a bigger show but the location is awful. It is in a seedy part of the area south of and just outside of the Down Town area. I would not leave my vehicle unattended there for 1 minute.
I live less than 5 minutes from the Pasadena Convention center and it is an EXCELLENT facility. Ample free parking. I don't know about a show there at the end of this month but there is one there this weekend. There is no number of times I've been to that show. Bought lots of goodies from there too. If you go be sure and check out the AJC Sports folks, they give discounts for cash and they have the best prices and selection of any other vendors at the show. They will be up close to the front of the building and to the right as you go in. I've bought several guns there. When I bought my Colt LE6920 a local LGS wanted 1700 smackeroos for it plus tax. Using the cash discount I walked mine out the door from AJC for 1100 bux.
Let us know if you do any good there.

If you have not been to the GRB part of downtown Houston in a few years, it will shock you as to how it has changed. It is flanked by Minute Maid Park (Astros) and a Hilton Convention Hotel. It's only blocks away from Toyota Center (Rockets). There is always a large LEO presence in the area and at gun shows. I had jury duty for Harris County two years ago and was amazed at how much the courthouse and GBR areas had changed. What killed Houston gun shows for me was the parking expense and entry fees would kill any savings unless I was looking for something in particular.
