Does S&W still own Walther?
Do they? Or who does now? I am trying to find it on the Google machine and coming up empty.

I think they only partnered with them. I could be wrong, but I think they partnered to import and give Walther a route into the US market.

S&W never owned Walther. They had a partnership agreement for Smith to manufacture the PPK and Walther to manufacture the M&P 22. Many articles out there on the subject. Here's one frm 2012. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...wesson-mostly/

I have had an ongoing thing with S & W, concerning my faulty P22. (faulty magazines, and extractor)
This has been going on for about a year.
In the last month, in an attempt to obtain a proper extractor, S & W informed me, that Walther was now responsible for all warranty issues on the P22.
I contacted Walther, and was able to obtain the extractor from them.

Walther Arms now owns and operates its own U.S. importing and customer service facility in Fort Smith, Arkansas. My PPS has the Walther Arms import stamp rather than Smith & Wesson. Before that, Smith & Wesson was the sole importer for Walther and they had agreements in place regarding importation and manufacturing. The last I knew, they still have manufacturing agreements where Walther manufacturers the M&P22 for Smith & Wesson and they manufacture the PPK for Walther. However these last remaining agreements may be ending soon, if they haven't already.

Looks like it is it's own entity now, I just found it. I have 2 Walther's I'm looking at, I really wanted the Blued version (a LGS has it new for $629) but my Gun buddy has a new stainless for $590...I am seriously torn.
