A movie that taught me some of the most important life lessons.
Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein.
The things it taught me.
(1) Always trust/believe your good friends.
(2) If you aren't rich or famous and a beautiful woman is really interested in you for your brain be VERY careful.
(3) If you aren't rich or famous and TWO beautiful women are really interested in you. RUN!
(4) And most importantly how to laugh!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=l6NIVn6_m1c
If you haven't seen it you really should as its great fun that just about everyone will enjoy, especially if you are a fan of the older monster films.

For me it was the "Chicken Little" movie where he runs around warning everyone the sky is warming the sky is warming. Taught me to take a close look at those making wild unsubstantiated claims and trying to create public panic and to check their motives. Are they just idiots or do they have an agenda?

Mine was "Cinderella."
No matter how much drudgery life throws at you, you will end up with a beautiful ball gown and glass slippers.
Which you can trade for a half barrel.

For me it was Dumb and Dumber. When it's over you can feel total, genuine relief to be who you are. It's wonderful to be satisfied and at peace with yourself.

Yeah, but what is an old fat nearly bald guy like me going to do with a ball gown and glass slippers. I need some fancy camo overalls and work boots.

That's Gary Cooper in High Noon.
I have read that Rio Bravo, in which the townspeople back Wayne, was made to deliberately contrast with High Noon.

Have watched a lot of movies and certainly have been influenced by Westerns and historical movies but I try to take something from every movie. John Wayne movies probably have had the most dramatic effect. John Wayne was basically the same person no matter the movie and I believe he had a good moral compass and reflected ideals that most Americans can relate to.

Without a doubt the best movie that had a lot of life lessons was "Jeremiah Johnson" with Robert Redford. Let's see what did it teach me?
Well first, a cold gun pried from the fingers of a dead man is better than no gun.
Never tell anyone you can skin Grizz if you can't.
Never offer a gift to any stranger especially an indian.
Think twice before you take advice from a crazy bald guy.
Never turn your back on a stranger, especially a bald crazy guy.
Never get your rock too hot while camping.
Never build a fire under a large snowy fir tree.
There are others but I am sure you get the idea. You can make mistakes but make sure you learn from them. Everyone makes mistakes, that is part of life. Never give up, no matter how many Indians come for you.

"Lonely Are The Brave" suggested it's a bad idea to agree to only use one
army when fighting a one-armed guy.
Also a bad idea to drink in the one-armed guy's bar in the first place.

Not saying that isnt a possibility but, Ive never heard that but,--the only connection between both movies and John Wayne--that imaware of--is he turned down the role that Gary Cooper played because he thought the role cheapened Law Enforcement Agents by making them appear to be cowards.

Not a movie, pro wrestling on TV. 1) The line between right and wrong is clearly defined. 2) You have to be strong and resourceful to survive. And, 3) The good guy doesn't always win. If those aren't life lessons, I don't know what is.

Life changing movies.....
Breaker Morant - Do your job well and you'll be rewarded.
Rashomon - Everybody's opinion isn't the same as yours.
Animal House - Don't get mad, get even.
Midnight Cowboy - You aren't as cool as you think you are.
Mr. Roberts - Watch out what you wish for.

My life lessons came from the old Kung Fu movies; the "chopsaki" stuff. Well, not really, but I enjoyed the hell out of them, & the cheaper the better. One really stands out in my memory...I think it was called "The Flying Birdcage Of Death". I'm not joking! Apparently, some Kung Fu monks had developed this weapon that was about the size of a manhole cover & twice as thick. It was attached to their wrist by a chain. They would fling the thing, & as it flew through the air it would open up, the upper & lower rings held together by wire mesh. Did I mention the rotating blades in the lower ring? The thing would land on somebody's head, the monk would yank the chain, the blades would do their job, & the head would return to the monk, neatly held by the wire mesh. When the inventor demonstrated the device to the head monk, he used a dog for the demo, & I kid you not, the dog was a German Shepard! What was a GS doing in ancient China? It's weirdness like that that kept me entertained.

High Noon taught me courage, honor, and integrity.
Serpico didn't teach me courage and uncompromising integrity, but it reinforced those ideals.

Sergeant York, especially where Pastor Pyle explains to Alvin how he can straighten things out in his life.
One of my favorite movies.

Those Kung Fu movies taught me that being able to beat people up solved 99% of the world's problems.
'The Flying Birdcage of Death'.......sorry I missed that one.
