Default A leaky Photobucket

Computer sages, I ask you:

How does one fix a leaky Photobucket?

I have noticed in my own and others' photos from Photobucket that are posted here, that innocent clicking on them can take the viewer into the individual's Photobucket account.

This seems to be the case regardless of whether just a photo has been posted, or a link to a photo in a Photobucket account. (I always just post the photo itself; never the link, but now I see that it doesn't seem to matter as far as leading to my account.)

Now, I don't have anything there that I wouldn't want anyone else to see. Just gun pictures mostly.

And when I find myself in someone else's Photobucket, I don't "explore" in there -- I just look at the gun picture they have posted, and I close out.

Is there a secret to plugging the leak in the Bucket so this doesn't happen?

When I post photos on forums I use TinyPic. It strips EXIF data from the pic and is free. Clicking on a photo may link to a larger view but doesn't go anywhere else. If you keep your pics in PhotoBucket or else where, it's a simple step on TinyPic to link the URL of the photo rather than uploading an original from your machine. Same result.

What RV4driver said. Plus, when I paste a link into a post, I strip out the URL information so that all you'll see is the picture.

I've pointed this leak out to others here in the past. Usually by commenting on some other pictures in their gallery that they probably didn't want public.

Friends don't let friends use Photobucket. I have a rhyming alternative name for that place I'm not allowed to use here.

Glad you brought up the subject O P.
I recently took a look at a posted gun pic, and was able to see thirty or more of the guy's collection.
Several visible items with personal data. At least two gun receipts, and one Jinks letter with full name and address.

Looked "chancy" to me.
