Does anyone know if Smith and Wesson still offer plant tours anymore? If so I would like to return as I took a tour back around 2000 and it was fantastic to see how guns are manufactured. After the tour a couple streets we went to the range and gift shop where you pay for the ammo and get to shoot the S&W currently made of your choosing. I recall shooting the Tactical Series in 9MM which I wish I had bought in addition to the CS-9. Gift shop had plenty of swell items at the time also. Can't recall having a better day of it.

Sad to say the factory store and range were shut down a few years ago. I would call the main number and inquire about factory tours. If you're going to be in the area, the Springfield Armory Museum is a great tour, with arms and armor from centuries ago as well as amazing machines and every firearm ever built in Springfield. It's run by the National Park Service.

Not long ago there was a thread here on this topic, and it was said that there were no routine factory tours for the general public. I am sure there are VIP tours held when appropriate.
