Default 19 Years

Today is our 19th wedding anniversary. Feels like only yesterday we had the wedding.

My wife managed to melt the old blender so, I got her this one:

I know it's not a traditional gift, but she liked it and that's what matters to me.

I've broken the "anniversary gift" rules before. One year I got her a dish washer and another time I got her a vacuum cleaner. She was ecstatically happy to get both of those.

Yep, we're not normal and we like it that way.

Saving the melted blender story for another time?

Congrats to you and the wife for making it work and Best Wishes for many more!

P.S. My Mrs. spied over my shoulder and wants a review.

Nah, nothing exciting there. The last blender was found at a garage sale for $5. She uses it almost every day and managed to seize up the blade bearings. I could probably have bought some more blades, but this one came highly recommended.

My sister and her husband are cooking fanatics. They are that couple that actually has made every recipe in the 30 or so cook books they have. So, I texted her before I started any research. Within seconds she replied with one word, Ninja. Usually she lists a couple tools and their benefits. When she gave me that one, simple reply, I didn't hesitate and ordered it on the spot.

One thing my wife liked right away was the individual cups it came with. It came with two single-serve smoothie cups. There is a special lid that you use to blend it. Then you just turn the cup upside down and swap the blend lid for a regular drink lid and off you go. My wife likes to make breakfast smoothies every morning. This will pay for itself in time and cleaning in a month.

Ordered from amazon for $80.

Isn't that the blender you can through a brick in and make dust ?
Give that a try and let us know how you make out.

But for real , we got one and it is great. Congrats on the anniversary.

I bought my wife a couple firearms for special occassions. I kid her about needing a new handgun for her birthday. Congrats on 19, you are in a shrinking group.

A farmer I met in Dubuque said his wife filed for divorce after he bought her a manure spreader for a gift. A blender seems comparatively normal.

Happy anniversary.

Congrats! We are coming up on 22 in a couple of weeks. My wife doesn't cook much, but I got her a food processor for our anniversary a couple years ago. It was what she wanted. She's used it only once since then, and we had to study the book for quite awhile before we figured out how to make it work. We thought it was defective for about the first thirty minutes we tried to use it. Finally discovered that even though the bowl will attach four different ways it will only operate in one position.

Of course, the owner's manual told us that, but who reads the instructions?

This year I've got her three extra magazines for her Sig P938. She only has two now. I haven't decided for sure yet if they are for our anniversary or for her birthday a couple weeks after.

Is that a "tactical" blender?

We've been married 20 years. We don't exchange anniversary gifts, but instead, every 5th anniversary we'll go on a trip without the kids. My wife loves to travel, and this suits her better than gifts. I don't care much about either. I guess we aren't normal either. Who is?

Congratulations on a long marriage.

I was told to get a fingertip of olive oil and regularly dab it on the bottom of the bearing to prevent this. Joe

Well, it sure didn't work for me!! I got the bright idea of giving my wife every kitchen Gadget That was available on the market one Christmas. I knew immediately I was in trouble when she started opening her presents, the look on her face was priceless!.
Most of them were regifted or went to Goodwill, Just a few years ago, during a move, I found the meat slicer, still unopened and unused, I didn't even mention it, just took it on to Goodwill with the other stuff I was donating
And, BTW, don't ever surprise her by reorganizing the kitchen cabinets and cupboards, either, for some reason, they don't seem to appreciate that.

I think they just want to know they are thought of. I met a man yesterday and we got to talking about. Things of that. Nature. And he told me he and his wife agreed when they got married not to buy each other traditional gifts because if they really ever needed anything they just went and bought it. Sounds pretty smart to me.

Default Happy anniversary....

...and many more.

Anybody watch those Blendtec "Will it blend?" videos where they blend golf balls, ball point pens, marbles, a crowbar, etc.?

You need to get her a mixer for your "KitchenAid Jubilee."

Actually, don't feel so bad. My wife loves getting stuff to bake with. For her, it's like when you give a gent power tools.

Happy anniversary, by the way.

Congratulations on your anniversary.

About that blender. What CTG is it, and is it effective against bears?

Gave my bride of almost 49 years this one a couple years ago-- it is what She wanted, and Her choice. Thing sound like a jet engine when She starts it up.

Congrats on your 19th. Time flies when you are having fun. We just had our 20th last May. Seems like only yesterday when we married.

Nice blender. They are so hard to find in a LGS.
