I tend to like gin and usually buy stuff across the board including Tanguery, Bombay, Gordon's, but I wonder if anyone has a really special brand they like whether neat, on the rocks or with a splash of dry vermouth.

(Please no suggestions for chocolate, strawberry or anything other than what is generally considered the classic martinis.)

And if chilled it's shaken, not stirred, of course.

My wife and I are also gin lovers and once did a double-blind taste test on a number of brands, eventually deciding that we both liked Boodles best, followed closely by Beefeater. That's just us, of course, and may not be the case for anyone else.

For a change of pace, we like Hendricks, which has a very distinctive flavor.

I really like Gin, to the point that I don't buy it very often... :-( ...... But, the next time I do so, I'm going to try 'Boodles'. ........

I drink a lot of Hendricks, and I drink it neat (unless I have a lemon cucumber around, in which case I'll throw in a round).

Thanks all. Hoping for more suggestions.

But now Boodles and Hendricks are on my list.

Must remember to try Beefeaters again; thanks for the reminder.

GIN

Bombay sapphire or beefeaters for me, Gordons for the company (poured into a sapphire bottle of course). "I don't drink all that much anymore".

Love Beefeaters, have tried Aviators (Okay), Hendricks (really good!), Boomsma (really different and very good) and for "Martini Monday", Gilbey's gets the nod!!

My Wife likes a Tanqueray Gimlet once in a while but I am NOT a Gin Guy. I like either Bourbon, Sour Mash Whisky or Vodka.

My wife and I both drink only gin and tonic with a dash of grenadine. The gin we prefer is Fleischmann's, and we've tried most everything on the market. Beefeater's is OK, but Fleischmann's is better and also less expensive.

Hmm...gotta try some of these. I do like Beefeaters. Gin is a go-to for summer, when smoking a cigar on the porch. The rest of the year I'll be drinking Buffalo Trace bourbon, Templeton rye, or some other variation of brown liquor. Lost my taste for scotch about 25 years ago...seems coarse to me now.

Sorry to cast some decent on this thread, but I refer to gin and tonic as "hair tonic and tonic". I have several bottles in my bar for guests, but to my palette, gin should be reserved to remove grease spots from the driveway!:o:D
