It is called Bone Tomahawk and is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. Those who do not have Prime can rent it or buy it. The less background you know going into it the better perhaps. This is a well done film, albeit brutal in parts. It is well played throughout. Russell uses a nickel big bore top break Smith and Wesson as the sheriff.

I would call it searing.

Do you remember Kurt Russell in "Follow Me Boys?" He played a troubled youth who was straightened out by Fred McMurray, a reluctant Boy Scout Master.

Kurt Russell actually packs two Schofields in this movie. At first he has one of those short ones with about a 3 1/2" barrel like Uberti makes, and the other full length nickel. And another guy uses a Merwin & Hulbert a LOT in it, including reloading.
No comments here about the film. You're on your own. Kurt Russell got to use those muttonchops in TWO movies at once.
