I know it isn't new but it's amazing how many uses it has.

I've been using it in soups, stew and chili but while reading the label one day it said to try it in dip.I bought a 24oz container of sour cream and added 1 tsp of liquid smoke.Sit down with your favorite chips and a cold beer and see what you finish first.

Not too shabby as a baked potato topping either.I think I'll try it in a homemade cheese spread next.

Most grocery stores do. I have some, bought the larger bottle last time.

Now thanks to Colt LE I have another smoked thing to try.

Put it on hamburgers inside skillet cooked in cold weather works too. Baked Beans and anything like inside steaks to impart a little outside BBQ flavor.

It's REALLY good stuff, but it is possible to get too much of it in or on whatever you are cooking. Next time you make an omlet or scrambled eggs or a crepe, put a few drops of liquid smoke in the bowl when you bust up the eggs. Good Eats!

Been around a long time:D

Thanks, guys. I especially liked model70hunter's second link which, among a lot of other things, says the key is to use it in moderation. As in a little bit goes a long way. Also notes that many smoke flavored products are not actually smoked, but have liquid smoke added for flavor.

I've never tried it but will see if I can find a bottle of the plain stuff, mesquite or hickory. I want to add a little bit of it to my babyback rib basting sauce.
