Old TV Shows and the Automobiles

I wasn't into cars when 77 Sunset Strip ran. Which car did Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. drive? I think Kookie Barnes or Burns was a valet who brought him his car.

As a kid, I liked a show called, White Hunter. Starred Rex or Rhodes Reason. He was either two men or used different names on several shows. The vehicles were safari trucks and Land Rovers, of course. Ditto for a favorite movie from about 1956, Safari. I bought the DVD last year & watched it as an adult, adding even more viewing pleasure.

The only car that I've driven that's mentioned here was a Pontiac Firebird. I thought it and the Chev. Camaro had too restricted a rear view. But chicks liked them, so they had that advantage.

I used to date a girl who drove a mid-sized Mercedes. I liked that one!

More recently, my son and his wife had a souped-up Audi that was really nice. But that's beyond the scope of this topic.

Rex Reason and Rhodes Reason were brothers and were both actors. Rex was the oldest brother. Both brothers looked so much alike they could have been twins

No one answered me about cars on 77 Sunset Strip. Are we all clueless? That was a very popular show!

I bought one of those in '72 (it was a '65) same color, but my steering wheel was on the other side. I believe the one in the picture is a '64 judging by the grille. Story I heard was that Volvo was the only manufacturer that would give a car to the production company. It was a great car until I got rear ended by a Mercury Montclair.
