Default Will we be returning to single stacks and revolvers?

In the 80s we saw the rise of the "hi-cap Wonder 9"......the last 10-15 years has seen AR-15 ownership skyrocket and become the "modern sporting rifle".

But in the past few months.......... the Forums are sporting lots of threads on.........

"stocking up" on ammo, 80% lowers and other stuff in light of the coming election.

Also threads on new gun laws and "assault" weapon restrictions in Mass., Ct. and Calf. and will these trends spread ..........

Already we are seeing 10 round limits on magazine capacity in many areas.

All of which got me thinking.........................

Glad I've got a selection of 6,7 and 8 shot single stack autos and extra magazines and 5 and 6 shot revolvers and speedloaders.

They are not going after high capacity magazines and assault rifles this time. Don't think you're safe with your single stacks and revolvers, they are going after all of them.

dunno......but with the new single stacks being introduced, to my mind they make good sense for lightweight concealed carry options and with an extra mag on board decent firepower for an emergency situation.

On the other hand, I can see a 13 round 45 in the bedside table.

Think there is plenty of room for both..........

Very true! Get everyone you know to support the right candidates or it will happen before you know it! Support the NRA! With all the possible Supreme Court nominations at risk ALL of our rights are at risk!

I am investing in Flint Lock Blunderbuss's and black powder ingredients. Projectiles can be any common items.

I'm keeping what I've got.

Two of my favorite movies are "Michael Collins" and "Defiance".

Some times you just have to say, "NO, I REFUSE."

To those on the other side who don't like that (and I just LOVE their reaction to being defied) I say:

It's a much safer bet that you'll fold faster than superman on laundry day. Most Americans don't enjoy prison.

I don't think it will be hard at all. They, in cohoots with the national media, are demonizing you and me and anything that fires a bullet. They have also been influencing a whole new generation through pubic education that guns are bad and people who own guns are bad (i.e., Orwell's Animal Farm).

It's just my opinion, but I think they'll start by taxing the **** out of us for each gun they know we own and every bullet we buy after the election. Too many guns to confiscate and most of us are darn sure not giving'em up voluntarily!

Default Me Too

I'm not ashamed to admit that as a young agent, I too fell victim to the more-is-better era and I wanted a high capacity S&W Model 59, which, my agency did not issue.

While I still have and use my two Glocks and a Browning HP, oftentimes, when I carry, it's a single-stack Kahr P9. Yet, if I must go to the local stop-and-rob after dark, I'm still inclined to carry a larger, more shootable handgun. I also use the larger handguns for HD.

I guess I am already there. I only have one hi-cap pistol and I've never shot it. 1911s, smith revolvers, marlin lever actions and Winchester pumps. lee

I love revolvers, and if I had the money I'd pick up a single-stack autoloader. Both are fine with me.

Maybe explains why every gun company out there is making 1911s........it's an antique .................only a 7 round magazine........ from WWI and WWII.......

and Sig is making a revolver............

Henry is firing up production of ...... rifles from the 1800s.........

it's all starting to make sense now.............................

Didn't intend for it to go political...... more about us "old farts" with revolvers and single stacks...... being ahead of the curve vs. those who only own Wonder 9s and Glocks..................seems if you live long enough you begin to notice everything goes in circles...... fashion, hair styles..... guns!

Old Cop...... this is the Lounge......

I find it humorous....... people who know nothing about guns are afraid of things they know nothing about...... and their ignorance is almost funny........

One can have a hi-cap 9......and an extra mag for 30+1

I can have 2 3913s and 2 extra mags.....for 32+1.....and will always have a NY reload on hand..................

.....the truth is ....... most American's wish there was no "need" for them to have a gun (myself included)....but if they think they will lose the right to a gun....... they do their damn'est to go out and get one.

No more politics here.....

I remember some airhead on television stating that once the ammo in a magazine is used up, the magazine is useless and thrown away. Must have been a Mensa candidate...(My Education Not Seriously Applied).

Good question
It's when you take ghost guns, laser sights, and clips

Three-quarters of what I own are revolvers and single-stacks.

The last of july I decided I needed a 308 semi-auto rifle to go with my 308 bolt scout rifle. So I bought a DPMS Oracle, put some iron sights on it a got 3 more mags. Of course my wife asked why I needed another rifle. I said Hilary. I don't name my guns but I named this one Hilary.

Just another clever marketing campaign by firearms manufacturers in collusion with money grubbing politicians to get us to buy more guns. (I mean, how else ya gonna get the consumer to pony up in a saturated market?)

Works every time. (Like, um, shooting fish in a barrel...)

Hmm. Probably a good time to buy more S&W stock.
