'at scountel's done hit category four, and you better git'cho boat outten the watuh iffen you ain't already done it. Y'all be careful now, you heah?

Okay, the challenge has been given. Since Hurricanes are named A to Z, what would the redneck names be?

Angel
Bobbie Sue
Claudine
Daisy Mae
Ellie Mae
Fannie Mae
Georgia
Hattie
Irlene
Jolene
Kandy
Lurlene
Mary Lou
Nancy Jo
Olivia
Peggy Sue
Q... I got nuthin' for this one.
Raylene
Sue Ellen
Tammie Sue
U... Nope, nuthin' for this one either.
Vickie Sue
Waylene (female form of Waylon)
Xenia
Yolanda? Yvette? Yvonne?
Zoe

I'll work up the boys names next, unless I'm skewered completely for this one. Feel free to offer corrections to this list should you feel so inclined. I can't be the only one still up watching the late football game...

Redneck hurricane names, male edition...

Ace
Bosephus (Bubba was too easy...)
Cooter
Dale (Earnhardt, of course)
Earl
Floyd
Gator
Harley
I... ai-yai-yai, I got nothing.
Jethro
K...
Leroy
Marty
Newt
Opie
Peanut
Quinton
Roscoe
Stonewall
Travis
Ulysses? (I wouldn't think a redneck would name his kid after a Union General, though)
Virgil
Waylon
Xerxes?
Yancy
Zeke

Observations and opinions gracefully accepted if gracefully made...

Can you tell I'm bored watching the game? 9 to 3 in the third quarter. Sheesh!

For "Q" on the male list: "Q-ball" :D

Gotta say, we had Hurricane Floyd in eastern North Carolina in 1999, and I've always thought he was well-named as the reckless bruiser that stomped us into the mud and held our heads under water 'til we like to have drowned. Not a fun time for us Tar Heels.
