How many stayed up on Friday nights when You were a Kid to watch old Horror movies?
They were a regular thing with Us and We would have Our Friends over and make a party out of it.
We had a Guy called Goulardi and He got the T.V.station sued so many times it was crazy.T.V. was live back then and the Managers were always afraid of what this Guy would do or say next.But Money talks and He was so popular that They let Him do His thing hoping He wouldn't do anything to crazy.
He was so popular that when His show was on the Cleveland Police reported a drop in crime at that time,I guess the bad guys like Him also. Nobody could get away with the things He pulled today,They would be off the Air in a second.

every friday nite in the 1970's , growing up in Northern W.Va watched a horror host Bill “Chilly Billy” Cardille ,who broadcast out of Pittsburg PA,he kept me scared every friday nite..loved watching his show

Chicago in the late '60, early '70s had Svenghouli. I believe he was the host of "Creature Features".

There were actually two weekend horror movie shows in Chicago at the time. I forget the other.

I believe that "Creature Features" was on Channel 9 (WGN) and the other on Channel 32.

I recall seeing such classics of the cinematic arts as "The Torture Chamber of Doctor Sadism" and "The Mushroom People".

During the 1960s & 70s in Memphis, Saturday night TV belonged to Fantastic Features with Sivad, your monster of ceremonies.

[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QgwgDvq3t4] Fantastic Features[/ame]

The host was portrayed by station executive Watson Davis. (Sivad is Davis spelled backwards.) Davis filled in commercial breaks with silly skits and corny jokes. His fans just loved him.
The show was extremely popular and Sivad always drew huge crowds with personal appearances.
This show helped cultivate my love for Sci-fi/ monster movies.

Ghoulardi was my favorite - until Elvira came along !!! :D:D:D

My favorite, although not strictly a horror host, was Joe Bob Briggs Saturday Night Drive-In.

I have Joe Bob's very first book titled Joe Bob Goes to the Drive-In, first published in 1987. Twenty-nine years later, it still cracks me up. Stephen King wrote the introduction. Joe Bob (whose real name is John Bloom) reviews and talks about all these schlock films and the people who acted in them. It's funny stuff with such a strong flavor of the eighties...a decade that I thoroughly enjoyed.
