I'm the guy who chimed in already who doesn't watch the show except this one head bashing scene with my W.D. fan wife. So, this guy I saw as a cruel sadistic maniac was actually retaliating against those they captured who killed some of their men. Sounds no different than Vikings or other barbarians fighting for control and power. If the stars of this show were this Negen guy and his tribe and everyone was familiar with them and they caught and killed these people who would be strangers to us, would it be as brutal? Or justified in their lawless world? Like we root for Sons Of Anarchy guys and The Vikings to some degree.

Yes in a way. However, we know that Negan and his group called The Saviors, were very aggressive and forced other near by groups they found to work for them. Negan would do the same to them as he did with Rick's group. Someone would be singled out and beaten to death to show that Negan means business. Everyone else got to live and go home with the expectation that they now provide most of what they make or grow to The Saviors. Those other groups could keep enough to get buy day to day. If they were suspected of holding out someone else would be singled out and beaten to death. Of they protested someone would be killed....etc..

When Rick's group found The Colony (another group not far away) they had a lot to offer, unfortunately most of it went to Negan. So a plan was made to kill of Negan and his group. They just didn't know how big that group was.

This is what we see from our group's perspective. However, technically they attacked Negan first

But yes society is basically back to 10,000 BC. Small city states fight for territory and precious goods. They make alliances to band together and fight bigger city states. The zombies are still a problem but people are now accustomed to them and have figured out ways to deal with them. They are now more of a nuisance and only really dangerous in large heards.

I don't have cable but was able to catch all 6 seasons via network and Netflix. Sorry to see Abraham and Glenn go. Glenn has had many close calls so far. Maybe they are making room for a dynamic new good guy or two.

But Maggie's now available.....Hmmmm.

Neh his character dies then and there in the comics. Abraham was killed towards the end of season 6. They slightly changed it in the show but in this time frame both characters are dead.

I have a feeling this thing with Negan will last a few seasons. He is a hard guy to kill and there are many battles. I won't say how it ends with him but eventually it does

I just spent a week making this, only because I wanted to. No wonder Negan is in charge now. Wrapping a bat in barbed wire is seriously difficult . . .

Maybe now that Rick is reduced to walking around with his sad and empty holster on, Colt Python prices will drop down from the stratosphere.
