Mel Gibson did an fantastic job making this movie. I cant say enough how good this movie is. Only spoiler ill post is that, Desmond T. Doss's Sergeant makes it through the war.

BTW, at the end of the movie-the entire audience stood up and clapped. Ive only seen that done twice before--at Saving Private Ryan, and American Sniper.

I'll be looking forward to seeing this'n. Despite problems in his personal life Gibson has long been a talented guy on either side of the camera. The Patriot and Braveheart were only two examples of his skill.

Anyway, back to subject--it's great that someone like Mel Gibson is bringing a gents name to public notice-as well as making an on screen monument to such a great hero.

I thought he was Australian, but after a quick look he is an American, he only lived in Australia. His father moved the family there when he was 12 to live with Mel's grandmother for economic reasons and in the hopes it would help Mel's older brother dodge the draft during the Viet Nam War.

Never had much use for those who use the "n" word in casual conversation, either.
