We get lots of these critters. I'm at this instant sitting about 4 feet from the feeder, watching the show.

I'm guessing this guy is a dirty old man.

A tiger swallowtail at Brazos Bend State Park, same park as the above picture. I spend a fair amount of time out there.

Default Tiny Flower...Tiny Bee

The little blue flower is about the size of a pencil eraser. I have no idea what kind of bee or wasp or whatever this little guy is.

I'll add that this photograph was sheer luck on my part.

I believe what you have there is one of the many wasp mimic flies. There are quite a few of them. They tend to have shorter antenna than wasps and the heads have that "made up of all eyes" look to them. Here is a sample from our back yard that was easy to catch since it was laying eggs at the time.

With Memorial Day fast approaching, I thought I'd show this shot I took at the Vietnam Wall in DC in September, 2015. I was accompanying a WWII vet on an Honor Flight to view the WWII Memorial. I call it "Reflection at the Wall."

This is one of the things I found most interesting when I got to visit the Wall back 20 years ago. One of the pics I took back then was a closeup of some of the names from a lower angle so that the clouds could be seen in the reflection.

Default Two Squirrels

Every morning for weeks, this squirrel would come down out of the maple tree and perch on top of his concrete brother.

When I put down some fresh mulch, I had to briefly move the concrete squirrel. When I put it back next to the tree, I must not have placed it just right, because the squirrel never returned to sit on it again.
