Default Oldie, Apache Uprising

Was flipping through the channels.
There it is! Apache Uprising.
Story line- Big problem getting the stage through to Lordsburg.
Just in case some of you Buckeroos haven't actually been to Lordsburg.
This is what you need to know.
When you get to Lordsburg , you strongest urge will be to leave Lordsburg!
How come nobody ever made a movie about folks trying to leave Lordsburg?

Or Las Cruces, either.

Anytime you see a movie about stagecoaches in AZ, NM, West TX, it probably the Butterfield Stage-line.
Was just looking at a route map.
As The Butterfield headed across W TX for El Paso, it crossed the Pecos at the - are you kidding me - Horse Head Crossing.
After El Paso, it cut North up the Rio Grande to Las Cruces?
No! Cruces wasn't there then.
Mesilla was the big place up that way then.
Mesilla is now a quaint village just S of Cruces.
You can still stop at the same building where the stage stopped.
And I don't ask what time do we get to Lordsburg?
I might ask do you have any specials today?
It's the La Posta restaurant .
Do yourself a favor and go there sometime!

I had Arizona, New Mexico and El Paso TX as my territory when I still worked.
Spent many an hour in all the above cities.
I think my favorite place in NM was Glenwood.
