Default Lethal Weapon 30 years old

The movie that made the 9mm Beretta 92 and SW Model 19 .357 magnum famous is now 30 years old this month. We are watching it tonight. Love the gun range scene.

Act like riggs beretta is a real "serious gun" whereas less than a decade before Murtaughs .357 magnum was considered "extreme" because its so powerful

Sorry, they're no Dirty Harry.
Especially Glover. I'm surprised he even touched a gun.

He'll touch a gun - for money.

He just doesn't want YOU to touch one.

I'd be lying if I said the Lethal Weapon movies weren't at least partly responsible for my first gun purchase in the 90s, a Beretta 92FS. Took several classes with it, always shot it well. I still have it. It's currently serving as a HD gun, loaded with 147gr HST.

Funny story: In one of the classes I took 9mm ammo was provided. At the end of the last day, after the class was officially completed, the rangemaster/head instructor said there was still 9mm ammo leftover and we could go ahead and shoot it all if we wanted (oh, the 90s...). I decided to try my hand at prone shooting since I'd never done that before. While I was on the ground I was reminded of those scenes in where Riggs rolls across the ground while shooting, so I tried it (FYI, I was safe about it, making sure my muzzle was ALWAYS pointed downrange at the target). I honestly can't say if I hit the target, though. One of the associate instructors walked over and said, "Well, I've never seen that before." The frivolities of youth.

Not really thread-related, but that same after-class session I decided to push my Beretta, running 60 rounds through it as fast as possible. The gun got too hot to hold so I had to lay it in the grass to cool off. It never malfunctioned, even though I had been shooting it all day without cleaning. That always impressed me.

No comment cept I fully agree with most of the above ESPECIALLY with^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ his post. I also have a Baretta 92--always wanted one. I havent fired it yet but my Nephew has put 500 rounds down-range-says its an excellent handgun.

I have two 92s. great shooters, easy to maintain, but awfully big for 9mm platforms. So I use them/keep them in useful places, but never carry them.

I'd have to agree, except for the "fun" part.

I have the entire Lethal Weapon series and watch all 4 of them about twice a year. I get your comment about the Baretta 9 and the model 19 but I think the term Lethal Weapon as the title was referring more to the character Martin Riggs than any of the guns in the movie. Just a thought....

I like the scene where he's getting ready for work and he has what looks like a RH Galco Summer Comfort IWB holster flipped around cross draw and hanging on the outside of his slacks.

My crazy neighbor got mad and threw a bunch of DVDs out in the hallway a month ago and I think that was one of them. I might have to watch it tonight.

Apparently I have 1 and 2

In the parking garage when Murtaugh is checking out Riggs' Beretta Murtaugh say that they're going to have to Register Riggs as a lethal weapon.

Default Yep, the ugly truth...

,,,we are getting OLD.

Saw something today where 'Back to the Future' was 30 years old. Let's see, I was about 30 when it came out. That means.... Where did the time go???

'Lethal Weapon' - I thought those were 'entertaining' to say the least. Was that where the guy was stuck on a toilet that was rigged for a bomb?

I'll take the 'Lethal Weapon' ones any day. Those 'Diehard' movies were an abomination.

I found the first one very entertaining, but they went down hill from there.

In the second movie, Glover's character goes into the South African consulate to immigrate. "But...but... he's black!"

Funny series.
