Tactical Tommy -- a British spec ops soldier?
Trunk Monkey is new to me, but les.b's video clip is hilarious!
I also liked the definition I found on urbandictionary.com of a trunk monkey as being the weapons systems officer in the backseat of a fighter, behind the "stick monkey," the pilot.

Trunk Monkey is as the video shows above.
Tactical Tommy is a machine gun with rails, lasers, bipod etc.

What the Sheriff brought to the shop was a
different gun than Will took to his mecanics.
Long barrel semiauto vs a shortbarrel that ended up at the range

Tactical Tommy, you see them at the range and sometimes they will nut up and join USPSA tactical practical club. They arrive in 5.11's head to toe YES including tactical socks and underwear. Dude looks good in his tac gear. He may be sporting shaved head and Spec ops beard, highlighted by Oakley fast mover glasses. Thigh rig, even though its not allowed, His shirt has his blood type patch, and of course his tactical hat he dragged in the dirt at home to get the newness off of it. He drives a lifted 4x4 hopefully its a diesel rig with a big ***** stack in the bed, mag pull stickers in the window and a tattered American flag attached to his bumper.
He cant hit ****. Or maybe he can. Just sayin.
OH wait, he also sports tactical vests. Loaded with protein bars, hydration tissues, spare mags, and his iphone

Does he still live in his Momma's basement?
Does she still make those delicious egg salad sandwiches?
And I bet she still trims off the crust!

Very likely, I have never asked, next time I visit Ben Avery SF Ill ask. I literally watched this guy try shooting at 4 IPSC target from 10 yards and not hit a one of them. We all walked up to score and laughed our butts off. he screamed an obscene amounts of words and we haven't seen him in a while.

Trunk Monkey is kinda a LEO thing, but recently I saw some civi trunk monkeys:
In LEO land you have investigators or agents who drive non leo civi cars (not un marked PD cars) Since there is a shortage of LEO's in most states etc. they will usually have to respond to almost anything else. When they get called they have a trunk full of tac gear weapons etc they have to wear to respond. The minute they arrive they open the trunk and get ready.
Recently I saw some tactical tommy types store all their gear in the trunk as if they would need to respond to these things. Very nice trunk within the trunk..........They store weapon's and tac gear in the trunk while they go to a day job selling insurance. Maybe its a prepper mentality? IDK. seems odd, then on a local FB page I saw this guy had posted three of his guns had been stolen overnight at his house. For the life of me I don't understand how anyone could be so irresponsible to leave weapons in a car over night.

Maybe his Tactical briefs were too tight on his "testacticals". It can cause shift in point of impact. Should try Tactical boxers next match. Of course at Ben Avery, they must be in desert camo!

We see folks (shoot, ALL of us see these folks) that use the whole target area at 7 yards. Every. Square. Inch.
I call 'em Frugal Shooters, coz they don't waste an inch of paper. Me? I like to waste all the edges i can, just use the middle if at all possible..
EDIT: This wiki tells the story of why it's a Subaru thing...

When my shooting buddies and I go varmint shooting in Idaho, the Trunk Monkey is the guy who draws the short straw and gets to climb into the back of the canopy covered truck bed and hand out all the shooting gear. I think I'll order one from Suburban Auto Group!

That 's not a monkey in the video. It's a chimp. They're apes, not monkeys.
I studied Primate Behavior in college and learned this kind of stuff.

While you are correct, I think they were simply using "poetic license" with the "Trunk Monkey" moniker!! After all, "Trunk Chimp " just doesn't roll off the tounge like "Trunk Monkey"!!! And "Trunk Ape" just plain doesn't work...
I've been considering some alternatives: "Practical Primate" has a sort of ring to it, but "Practical Tactical Primate" is a little cumbersome.
All in all, considering the humorous nature of the videos, "Trunk Monkey" will probably be around for awhile.
Best Regards, Les

Yeah the trunk monkey thing evolved from the commercials to mean your trunk gun, as in "I picked up a used 870 for my trunk monkey."
Haven't heard Tactical Tommy, but I've heard Tactical Timmy. Usually used by IPSC-type gamers to disparage anyone who does crazy stuff like use an IWB holster or use cover in a match, basically anything that's geared more to the real world then squeezing out every available point. Makes them feel better about themselves, I guess.

Remember people, this is supposed to be fun, mostly clean, and somewhat lighthearted. I really did like les b.'s line about poetic license.

"How do you know it's not a bonobo? "
I wish I had been born a bonobo. They have lots of fun. Most zoos don't want them as they have so much fun.
Many zoologists consider the Bonobo as being the closest primate to humans, more so than Chimps.

I'm thinking that what with the tubes, fake armor, type of "gun", and the background, he's more likely a low-rent cosplayer. Mall Ninjas/Excessively Tactical folks, like the main man Gecko45, tend to have real gear, albeit really unnecessary.
