Ive seen Robert Loggia in a few old tv episodes lately--an old Rawhide ep--as a Mex bandit-and The Untouchables-as a Mobster. I wasnt a fan of his tilI saw him in these two eps. Ive noticed his acting techniques rival Betty Davis's techniques--try:The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex for what im talking about for Davis. Both must have gone to the same acting school, and both are excellent actors.

The Mr. Spock connection. In a season 3 ep of Uhtouchables--Loggia gets shot be a punk (Mr. Spock) wannabe. Anyway, any Robert Loggia fans out there who dont know about his earlier tv work, check him out-he was excellent--especially as the bandit leader. BTW, Ness shoots and kills Spock-who stupidly tries to gun him down.

He was in a lot of stuff!
Seeing is believing, but I can't recall any of then scenes that Ringo recounts.
I do remember him in a lot of other movies- tv shows.

Some TV actors are REAL actors...

A few weeks ago we were singing praises for Martin Landau who was primarily in TV, especially early in his career.

Remember Robert Walker in the Star Trek episode, "Charlie X"? I saw him in an earlier "Naked City" episode (Dust Devil on a Quiet Street) where he was trying to become an actor and the acting teacher (Richard Basehart) pushed him incredibly hard to make a scene where he kills somebody as real as possible. Jaw dropping performance and tense in a really scary way.

Some TV actors always played the same character under different names on different series, Others were extremely variable in their roles and pulled them off convincingly. That kind of acting, writing and creativity make shows that are 'too good for TV'.

PS: Andy Griffith and Harry Morgan (Mr. Nice Guys) played some parts where they were nothing but evil. And were excellent at it. If an actor like Nimoy or Dick Van Dyke ended up as a villain on 'Columbo', you got a great show.

Another phenomena is how well actors playing 'tough guys' could transition into comedy. Leslie Neilsen, Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack. Clint Eastwood is surprisingly funny at some kinds of humor.

Speaking of Richard Basehart--THAT guy could really act. Ive never seen him in anything good or bad--and him do a bad act. Basehart iis in my top three best or favorite actors. Charlton Heston is another, and the third of the trio--John Mills.

When I was a little kid I loved the short lived 60s show "T.H.E. Cat." Robert Loggia played a cat burgler. And I still remember what his THE initials stood for. Thomas Hewitt Edward Cat. Me and a friend would wear all black and climb telephone poles at night pretending to be this guy. Hey, it beats sitting around playing video games, right?

How did Spock hide his pointy ears?

Ive got a lot of Loggia looking up to do. If the rest of his work is like I mentioned in the OP--ill forever be a big fan of his.

I remember Robert Loggia from the mini series "Favorite Son" and the spin off series "Mancuso FBI". He was also the mob boss in "Armed and Dangerous". I recently saw an early Robert Loggia film from the 50's where he is a detective looking for a cop killer. Great actor.
