I'm relieved to see that people in other states also don't stop before turning right on red...I was beginning to think it's only here in Maryland that we have such drivers!

If it were up to me, right-on-red would be gone...too many people abuse it.

I drive a lot in Germany, and we could learn a thing or ten from their driver licensing system and highway laws. For example...

* The driving age is 18...
* Driver training is comprehensive and expensive...several grand.
* Driving laws are strictly enforced.
* No right on red.
* Drunk-driving laws are very tough.
* On any road, slower traffic keeps to the right.
* You cannot drive in the left lane unless you are passing someone.
* You cannot pass someone on the right.
* It is illegal to make rude gestures at another driver.

For an enthusiast, this is like Heaven on Earth!
