Default Helped a coyote take a nap.

Keep my Smith and Wesson 3000 #4 buckshot within back door reach and paid off when I noticed this one within range. When I opened the back door and looked for a Shot it had dissapeared into the brush, so I grab my phone and quickly turned on my bluetooth speaker and played a quick chorus of a rabbit in distress from an app I had installed on my phone, here it comes, then naptime. My local t.v news has been highlighting coyote problems in my area, a guy shoots this black one trying to get his chickens, haven't seen one this color, anyone seen one like this?

Black one is a Coydog. Probably a black lab in the woodpile! Notice the heavier body. We have shot some crosses with German Shepherds that were nearly wolf-like.

I’ve taken out a couple with my truck. We are overrun with bunnies and prairie dogs in Colorado so the coyotes stay pretty well fed.

Coydog, wow. Never saw one. Here in PA we are strarting to see coywolves. Apparently the Eastern coyote can mate with wolves, and they are doing it. Bigger than a normal coyote and smaller than a wolf. Aggressive hunters to say the least. None in my neighborhood yet, but has to happen sooner or later

I would let a biologist with your Game & Fish take a look at him. I bet that is a Coywolf. Coyote x Wolf cross.

Yep it’s very likely a coywolf. Coywolves are Taking Over Eastern North America

I hope they get wolves in Central Park in NYC.. They were so dammed determined to introduce them out west and they have decimated the elk and deer herds.
Maybe if they scarf down a few tree huggers there, they'll get the message.
Wolves get big out here. I have seen some that a feller shot and he tried to hold them up and he couldn't raise them high enough to get the back feet off the ground.

They might welcome some of us varmit hunters with our .223’s and .243’s after a few Park Avenue poodles get snatched!

I got one of these little Howa Ranchland rifles in .223 and I absolutely love it. Easy to carry on a tractor, dozer, ATV, etc. Put a Leuopld 2x7 compact scope on it and it is a dream rifle for these parts. We rarely shoot more than 100-200 yards at coyotes. Many of the hunters simply use shotguns like Pluspea.

I saw one cut through the back of a dove field that looked just like a GS but with a bushier tail and slightly different features.

I see tracks all the time on the hunt property and hoping now with colder weather they will come out in the morning or evening.

Over 15 year ago I heard a Cat "Scream"
when I walked out a Good Sized Coyote/Coy-wolf Came out of the underbrush

This was in a Tiny bit of Woods in between my Condo & a shopping Center
in a small city in S.E. Massachusetts

He looked at me and ran across the Condo Complex to a bigger patch of woods

I hear coyotes at lest 2-3 times a week when I walk my dog (female GSD) at night .. I don't let her loose anymore when its not light out .. she alerts to the tree line sometimes at night .. I live on 2 acers in the country and when crops are up we see tracks right at the property line and wife saw one in the back yard a year ago .. carry when ever I am outside ..
