Each year in the United States, 5,200,000 pounds of pickles are consumed. They come in many flavors from Dill to Gherkin, Cornichon, Brined, Kosher Dill, Polish, Hungarian, Lime, Bread and Butter and many more!

While pickles are high in sodium, they can bee a good source of vitamin K.

Pickles have quite the history dating back to 2030 B.C. At that time, cucumbers were imported from India to the Tigris Valley where they were first preserved and eaten as pickles.

Funny how your post puts the tang on the tongue and makes the mouth water. :)

Had plenty of pickles, but 2 sources for great Dill pickles, from my old neighbor Abe, who had a pickle connection at the Bethpage farmers market, and homemade from my Russian tenant Lyudmila. One of life's treats.

Just a bit of a warning, speaking from experience, vitamin K will reduce the effectiveness of most anti-blood coagulants.
Coumadin, Wayfarin, Etc.

Have your PT/INR checked regularly.;)

My favorites were Max’s New Half Dills, big cukes, crispy and slightly sour in a fizzy brine. I haven’t been able to find their like since they quit making them. Bubbie’s are the right idea, but too salty.

I love picked anything; eggs, pigs feet, onions, baloney, peppers, herring, cauliflower, peaches, walnuts........you get it.

If you ever get a shot at these I don't think you will be disappointed:

Hmmm, didn't know that. Am on Warfarin and a baby aspirin, and after getting 2 more stents a few weeks ago, the Dr. added Plavix to my regimen. I'll have to cut back on the pickles.:(
