You Tube is Banning Gun Videos
I just heard that You Tube is banning most gun videos starting in April. They are dangerous, offensive, and may show someone how to do illegal things. So if you are looking for how to take down that weird old gun you just got for cleaning, you need to find a better way. And of course videos on general safety are far too dangerous for the general public. So I went to You Tube and did a few searches for other videos that would be entertaining and informative:
How to cook meth
How to make bombs
How to pick up hookers
ISIS beheading videos
Satanic black mass
Seems that these videos all meet community guidelines.

I'm not sure this is entirely a bad thing. There are millions of videos on YouTube showing idiots doing idiotic things with and to guns.
And I reckon that's enough of that for now...y'all get the idea, don't you? It's yahoos like these guys give us all a bad name and throw gas on the anti-gun fire.

You Tube Hate Speech Policy
I would argue that the above You Tube policy on hate speech should ban videos inciting hatred against people who exercise their civil rights . . . including those who exercise their rights under the Second Amendment

If that happens, seems like a great opportunity for someone to start a web site.

Although starting up something new probably costs a whopping big amount it could be an opportunity but we shall see.
My first thought was NRATV could grow and become a home to many although let Youtube keep the idiots with guns videos. I suspect Youtube may let those stay since they serve the greater purpose in how they portray gun owners and users. Or purport to portray...

Here is the actual . current YouTube policy.
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7667605?hl=en
Policies on content featuring firearms
YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:
- Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
- Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.
- Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.
Report content that violates this policy
You can report videos that you believe violate this policy by flagging the video.
Here is one persons interpretation of it all.

Wow, Youtube has really helped me a lot with some gunsmithing items over the years. I just put a new hammer on my Browning High Power, there were 3 or 4 videos I looked at and it would have been a real bear without the videos.

I just found out about Full30 and created an account. It looks good, with lots of channels and categories.
I predict that it will be very popular.

YouTube is owned by Google.
I heard it was just going to be the "illegal" useless ones like "how to" make guns "run fast", "full auto" and those that "sale guns" videos, the educational, instructional videos aren't at risk, but I "hope" I heard correctly. Who needs to know how to easily make a Glock full auto! I mean, geeze if your that stupid anyway you shouldn't be around firearms to begin with.

I would say that YouTube be damned. If you need to know how to do something with a firearm, post your inquiry here on the forum. The vast amount of knowledge that can be found here is unequal anywhere else on the interweb. There are many folks here that collect or are knowledgeable about guns other than S&W's and I am sure that your problems can be solved.

Not so easy, I can sit on my couch and surf YouTube videos on my TV and find an expert on what I'm trying to do, he's the guy that knows the correct names of all the parts and can rattle em' off without hesitation, not the bubba that says "this thingy-majig" part guy. Really great videos on there.

I think I remember being aware of its existence, but I never looked at a YouTube video until I joined this forum. Not one, not ever.

I deleted youtube apps from all my devices this week due to this policy. I'm done with them. I left 1 start feedback for their 2nd amendment policies and interjecting their political bias but I doubt it will do any good.

I added NRA TV to my Roku so I can keep watching without helping youtube. I am not a AR owner, but there also is a AR15 app that has content that youtube is banning, or has banned. Those who want to go through the effort can create Roku private channels, they can even get paid for them if they wish.
When confronted to remove NRA TV this is what Roku had to say.
Roku will not drop NRA (National Rifle Association) TV as multiple companies move to cut ties with the group.
The streaming company said in a statement on Tuesday it shares "deep sadness" for the tragedy that occurred at a high school in Parkland, Fla.
"While the vast majority of all streaming on our platform is mainstream entertainment, voices on all sides of an issue or cause are free to operate a channel," Roku said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"We do not curate or censor based on viewpoint."
And don't forget the torrent sites for spreading content. I got my distros for Linux through these sites 20 years ago, they still operate, and some have video content.

It is easy, easy to upload, and easy to watch. That is coming to an end, but we should not be stopped. There are so many options to get video out there. The one that I think will tear youtube up is torrent downloads if the youtube gun channels are willing to change. I have not used them in a long time, but they are searchable just like youtube. Downloads will not be instant, but with the speeds of current systems should not take that long.
Like Amazon put the hurt on Ebay, youtube is not immortal from competition. Ebay has survived, but Amazon, and easier web hosting for marketing has been a bugger up their backside.
Roku is probably a good start, but it has some problems. Private channels are hard to find. I found AR15 not from a Roku search but a internet search that led to a forum with a post about the channel. Roku has already indicated they will not censor channels, they certainly have not censored porn channels.
Another problem is how much can they absorb if the community as a whole moves to roku. Then there is the problem that Roku is not available on mobile devices. I have it on my computer through a capture device, but I still have to have a Roku connected to the capture dongle.
ETA one gun channel has move to pornhub, but I think this is a bad move. I don't think those sites are safe, and that limits the young from watching gun videos. Maybe they will make a separate gunhub site.
AFAIK Rupert Murdoch still owns myspace, and videos can be uploaded to the site. I could not find their firearms policy.

Dropbox is making their market debut, and the stock is soaring. Just to give you an idea I have almost 1,000 full length movies on 2gb hard drive. Drop box free account is 2gb, I do not use DB as yet, but understand it is easy to share files.
There are so many ways to stick it to google.
Sorry my mistake by hard drive is 2TB, probably each movie is around 1gb. I think a paid DB starts off with 1TB, that is a lot of 15 minute videos.
And here we have a bump fire video on liveleak, Hickok45 videos are also on liveleak.

I do not You Tube very much but has anyone seen that any videos have been deleted? I looked and found lots of reloading and gun reviews??
I really do not care about making a semi auto into full auto with a note from my mother and she is deceased.
I mean Dillon is still making ammo!

Utube is not dose not belong to the public or is public domaine. They are private property with with a user clause.
It belongs to utube and as so it’s their sole right what to allow or not allow so they are not infringing on anyone rights.
They can set it to only where you can post and watch flower potting videos if they want.
If utube was public domain or government operated then perhaps you would be right.

Whether or not I like it, in the end, youtube is a private organization. They can allow or deny anything they want. Just like this site, it's not a 1st amendment issue at all.
The answer is to vote with your dollars. Simply don't go to youtube any more. Start your own video hosting site. That's actually a good idea. With the collective here, we could generate enough $$$ to get a server farm started. Hmmmm....

I agree. I say good riddance.
Too many idiots on the youtubes making us look like a bunch of dolts.

Well, until that happens there IS another site that is already hosting gun videos.
Let's just say I doubt the gorilla would want me posting it's name here and you'll want to either use incognito browsing or clear your history immediately after going there!

Besides, with our collective tribal knowledge, we already know everything.

I just watched a TAOFLEDERMAUS video where they said they had to censor themselves loading a solid gold shotgun slug lest the video be deleted.
The You tube people have started riding the short bus to work.

Now this is just insane
Wonder what can be found on the "dark web"? !
