Diet Water
With all the varieties of bottled water and its various flavorings - now we have the alkaline water discussion on forum.
I decided to mention one of my favorite devious requests at food vendors.
DIET WATER - Amazing confused looks when the clerk can not find this item on the computer screen menu ...

I was amazed that bottled water has overtaken sodas as the most purchased soft drink in the US. Somebody did a marvelous advertising job to sell so much of what comes out of my kitchen faucet for free. The profit margins must be impressive.

Would sure love to see a breakdown by age group of who buys the most.
With my health it's easier to turn on the tap than break the seal on some of them bottles.

Bottled water sales are through the roof around here. Our tap water tastes horrible. Lots of calcium chloride and other salts not only make the water very "hard" they also make it taste like something other than water. It won't hurt you. It's not unhealthy, but it sure does taste bad. Just comes with the geology of this area.
Age group doesn't matter. Everyone buys bottled here unless they have an RO system.

Howdy,
We started out with well water. Didn't like it.
We have a water softener system for everything except drinking and cooking.
For that we have a RO system.
Sadly most of the tap stuff is treated in some way.
In Honolulu, the water is filtered thru the lava, better taste than stuff here.

Topo Chico translates as Little Mole
The plastic bottle makers must be making a killing, not to mention the guys who bottle water straight from the tap!

My home town had watering troughs for horses on Broadway at Ballard Park. I think they are gone now, but so am I. Gone from NJ for 30 years.

Your softener is a conditioning system designed to remove hardness and make your water good for showers and such. It replaces the calcium with salt. Total dissolved solids are higher than I would recommend for drinking.
Your RO does its job of removing the left over solids and also removes bacteria. ROs don't discriminate. They remove beneficial minerals, Take your vitamins and all will be well.
Here's another tip, Find out how to inject chlorine into your house a few times during summer to keep bacteria from growing in your pipes. Don't chlorinate the softener though. Chlorine kills the softening resin.

Caj,
For Sailboat Fuel - Just ask any politician "WHY" you should vote for him. LOTS of HOT AIR ...
Be sure to properly position the politician first for correct direction of the wind.
I Have Freeze Dried Water in my freezer.
I had put a bag of diced green bell peppers in several months ago. The moisture (water) in the peppers sublimed into frost in top of the bag.
Since this frost was the water removed when the peppers freeze dried; I think it can be called Freeze Dried Water. Water collect while freeze drying ...
I am sure this makes a much sense as statements by some of your clients...

I remember Amarillo as really awful when I lived there in the 80s. Not sure if wise to even boil eggs in the shell being the permeability of the shell. Borger wasn't too bad but my landlord had a softener in the house I rented.

From what I have read bottled water that is flavored is tainted with all sorts of chemicals. UMMM GOOD! We are used to the taste of chemicals in our food and drinks.
Comes from cold natural running spring water. Yeah right. I saw where a water bottler got its water from. It came directly from Houston public water system into two huge filters then into 5 gallon jugs for home delivery.
Bottled water is a money making business for sure. Coke and many other soft drink makers have jumped onto the bottled water elixir wagon.
I have well water that is I great for drinking and fish tanks. I use to bring bottles of it for a friend's aquarium and he had the pet store test it. The pet store asked where did they get the water from because it tested out very pure.
No bottled water for me.

People are really gullible! A while back my wife and I were visiting FL and my wife needed some drug store items. I waited in our parked car just outside the store while she went inside. Outside of the store was a water dispensing machine with big signs advertising, "Fresh, Filtered Spring Water" for sale. The price was $4 for a gallon and the line had about 8-10 people waiting to fill their plastic gallon milk jugs. I started looking around and I spotted a water line going into the rear of the machine. I got out of the car and started to trace it back to its source. Around the corner of the building, the water line was connected to hose tap coming from inside of the building. The water was just plain city water!
