I like Gun Stories as well. Shootout Lane with Jerry Miculek and family is one of my favorites.

Definitely Gun Stories. Any actor that carries a Colt 1911 as part of his character, when his team mates carry plastic, gets my vote.

History of the Gun on the History Channel. They had some fabulous animations of how guns would operate when being fired. The animation for the Luger was incredible.

Well-done show, and I enjoy the history aspect.

I watch most of them, and wish there were more. There are a ton of hunting shows but not enough shows on guns. They have car and home shows that show how they are built. I would like to see the same kind of show for guns.

Among the regular gun show series I would agree that Gun Stories is the one I like the best. I like Joe Mantegna as an actor and as the MC of this show.
I am often disappointed in the American Rifleman, except for the "I have this old gun" segment. But I must confess it is probably because my tastes are too narrow as a result of getting older. I like vintage guns of all types. I like rifles of walnut and steel, side by side double shotguns and revolvers of all kinds. I don't watch semiautomatic pistols or AR rifles. I know many, perhaps most gun nuts these days like these arms best and I am fine with that. Just give me a little space, too.
Some of the programs, when considering a certain arm, will present a lineup of expert "talking heads" to inform us amateurs about the wonder of the piece. They are sometimes condescending and often boring.
On the other hand, during commercial time, Larry Potterfield will show us how to change the barrel of an old single shot rifle. I love it when he says "Thanks for your business." I have given him plenty of business.

Well then, that includes Jessie Stone. He is an M1911 guy and for a small town cop he sure does need to shoot a lot of people with it!

Forgotten weapons with Ian McCullum, individual episodes on you tube or if you have Amazon they have them grouped by weapon type ( WW2 guns, Russian guns etc.)
The content of some is amazing. Watch the episode on the 4 bore.

Wasn't that the one with a LOT of drama and very little shooting?

I lost interest after a couple of seasons for exactly that reason. Chris Cheng has turned into a pretty good ambassador for the shooting sports and 2A.
Why does everybody suddenly grow a southern/western accent when they talk about guns?

Besides Ian's channel, you should also check out C&Rsenal, that right now is all WWI small arms and their development from the pre-war. Mae, does all the shooting of the different weapons (There was a vid here of her shooting a muzzle loaded, shoulder fired 'cannon' posted by ParadiseRoad). The gunsmith they use is Mark Novak and his channel is Anvil. He was with C&Rsenal, but recently split off. He is in the Charleston SC area and specializes (mostly), in antique firearms and restoration, no 'black' rifles. He has also done some stuff for Ian's personal collection. Real big on the 'conservation' of old milsurps. Not trying to make them look new, but stopping further decay and keeping them shooting.
Very helpful if you have older guns.

I have a good friend who is a restorer who put me on to C&Rsenal. I'd like to find out where they are, in Mt Pleasant, I think.
Since we are mentioning Youtube (Since they are a continuing series anyway)
For laughs, iraqveteran8888. And Paul Harrell.

I 'think' Iraqveteran8888 is in the same area near Charleston, you see all three on each others sets fairly often and a couple times together at local shoots/get togethers.
Like to go there sometime, but it's a loong drive from where I live in the upstate.

In our area we get about six gun shows and also hunting shows but.........
with all the commercials, it is getting harder and harder to keep liking them, for a 15 minute show.
Gun Story is a good show and I also enjoy the kicker with the Midway spots.
I sort of miss the trick shot show with the bow guy and bob London shooting aspirin with a 45 colt.
