how do I correct photo orientation?
I was hit by the dreaded "upside down photo" while trying to post. I went back to the photo on my computer and rotated it 180 degrees and saved a copy. When I tested and downloaded both images, they were both still upside down.
My computer skills are marginal but maybe with simple direct instruction someone can wise me up on how to edit the uploaded image to correct the orientation.

This happens to me occasionally. There is probably an elegant way to solve this, but I don't know enough to find it. The problem has to be in the photo file's code.
A "primitive" workaround if you have Windows: Use the snipping tool to make a picture of your picture right side up on the screen, save that, and post it. That will create a photo file with completely new coding, and at least for me will post exactly the way it was on the screen, even though at a somewhat lower resolution.

It's not PC to try to correct orientation--just let them self-identify.

I'm the moderator of a few ATV forums and deal with this daily. Photos are horizontal rectangles not vertical rectangles. To take a photo that will post correctly unaltered, just hold your phone with the bottom (home button end on iPhone) on your right hand side.
If you hold it to the left the picture will be upside-down. If you hold your phone vertically (most common mistake) the picture will post sideways. Right is up-right.
