Closest I have is a Docter Optik 15X60 binocular mainly used for astronomy. It spots distant animals and the sharpness and brightness work better than some may think at the range.
You need top quality and ample objective lens diameter for high power scopes. No way would I buy a cheap, powerful scope.
If your binocular is high quality, even 8-10 power will work better than most think if you have good eyes and a rest. If you have cataracts, get 'em off! Makes a vast difference.
My cheapest glass is a Bushnell 10X30 monocular owned since 1980. I got an optical engineer at a defense plant to test it. He said it will very nearly show an intimate area of female anatomy clearly at 100 yards. That means it will probably define spots of less than one inch diameter.
Bausch & Lomb used to brag that their basic 7X35 Porro binocular will define an apple on a tree at one mile. I proved that, and Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski and other brands will, too. In a couple of cases, I cheated, using Bois d' Arc apples, but they're green, harder to see. The Euro glasses are 8 or 10 power. The Docter 15X60 makes the task even easier, of course.
