Default Safe Keypad Light

Has anyone ran across a good safe keypad light that works well and the magnet is strong enough to stay put?

I could use a few of those myself.

I've only seen the Cannon and Liberty branded ones. They appear identical other than the name, and the magnets are too weak to stay in place reliably.

I guess a good gun safe keypad light simply don't exist yet. Manufacturers take note.

Somehow the term Velcro comes to mind here. You do what you have to do until the manufactures fall in.

FWIW they have all sorts of different strength Velcros, get the heavier duty types.

I know this isn't a 'keypad', but, this is the one I bought for mine. I have no issues with the magnetic mounting. Stays where it should. The only downside is the 'red' LED. It really reflects off the gold finish on the dial.
It works every time and shuts off automatically. It leaves you plenty of time to put in your combo.

I have several of those small magnetic LED work lights from Harbor Freight that you can get for free or cheap during one of their perpetual sales. They run on a few AA or AAA batteries and are plenty bright, with a magnet strong enough to keep them in place.

I keep one on the outside of my safe for opening it in the dark and a few on the inside to provide light inside as needed. They are cheap and they work.

I think I found something. I happened to find this at the local Ace Hardware and I had bought a couple when the light over the stove burned out and couldn't be easily replaced. It's called "Big Larry" and the magnet on the base will make it stick like glue to the safe door. It has two intensities of white light and a blinking red LED light. And then when the safe door is open you can pull the light off the safe door and illuminate the inside of the safe, then stick the light back on the front of the safe door.

Mine says on it “Security Safe Light” and looks much like the Liberty brand pictures above. I see no model or other number on it.

It’s worked well for me. Although I’d prefer it be a white light instead of red.

I have seen these at Tractor Supply, it does looks to be made by the same manuifacturer as the Liberty. I may give one or the other a try.

A couple of years ago they built a Gander Mountain store right behind my house.

At my age and with all my worldly possessions they never had much that interested me, except this light.

Only thing I ever bought there before they shut the doors.

It's now a church.

It was twenty bucks.

I do like it. Crowns over the dial knob really nice.

And, the magnet is firm enough.

P.S. I just did a search and found it on Amazon.
