Safe moving

Another school of thought is to sell the safe and let the buyer worry about moving it to where they want it. Then take the money you sell it for and the money you saved by not paying a mover to move it and use those funds to buy a new one. Just a thought is all.

That sounds strange but actually makes sense. Most safe sellers have decent delivery prices or are included in the sale.

When we moved, I had sold my large Ft. Knox safe but the buyer said it was my job to get it from the basement to the garage where he would pick it up. When the movers arrived, I talked with the lead moving man and asked if he and his two helpers would like to make $100 each if they would move the safe from the basement to the garage. In 15 minutes, the safe was in the garage . Best $300 I spent.

I couldn't get rid of safes before. Took one to recycling. I got under $14 for it. Tried to give one away. It reminds me of offering someone a mess of fish. "Are they cleaned?"
Last thing I want is a friend to hurt his back.

When you sell them, you got to price them right. When my friend built his vault (Post#39), he had 15 of the Walmart safes that they sell at Christmas time. He sold them for IIRC $100 a piece and you hauled them away. They went like hotcakes. The down side is he should have kept them. He kept buying stuff and has had to buy four of the 50 gun safes that Tractor Supply sells to take the overflow.
