My app version of Gunbroker has said, “temporarily unavailable” for several days now, Anyone else get that message? The web version is fine, just the iPhone app. I could try deleting it and downloading again, I guess.

Ah, I see. Apple hates guns.

“ Effective July 1, 2021

Due to policy changes within their companies, Apple and Google have chosen to not support our apps any longer. This means we cannot provide needed updates, fixes or new access to the app. At this point the apps no longer function properly and need to be discontinued. If you have an app installed, you will receive an error message when you try to use it. ”

I couldn't find it on the Google Play Store for Android. If it once was available there, it isn't there now.

Consider yourself lucky. My Gunbroker app stopped working more than a year ago on my Android phone.

Gun Broker mobile app no longer supported

Apologies if this post is in the wrong place as it's more of a First Amendment issue than a Second Amendment issue.

Last couple of days I've been seeing a notification that the Gun Broker mobile app is "temporarily unavailable" and as I sometimes use my tablet to look over the GB site I uninstalled the app and tried to reinstall thinking I had a corrupted something or other.

I received the following message from GB:

"Effective July 1, 2021"

"Due to policy changes within their companies, Apple and Google have chosen to not support our apps any longer. This means we cannot provide needed updates, fixes or new access to the app. At this point the apps no longer function properly and need to be discontinued. If you have an app installed, you will receive an error message when you try to use it."

Seems to me GB represents a legal business that does not conform to the liking of Apple or Google essentially amounting to censorship. Upon reflection it may be surprising that GB lasted this long on these platforms but gol-dang-it.

If they get to pick and choose which businesses they'll support and which one's they won't it may be time for a little regulatory assistance to level the playing field. If a baker in Colorado MUST bake cakes for events that go against his core principles I don't see how big tech gets away with this bunk. Just sayin'.

Here's some direction from House Republicans via the Washington Examiner.

"Under pressure to come up with a conservative approach to holding Big Tech companies accountable, House Republicans announced on Wednesday an agenda that would make it easier to break up tech companies in court and challenge unfair censorship.

House Judiciary Committee Republicans, led by ranking member Jim Jordan of Ohio, said their agenda would speed up and strengthen antitrust enforcement, hold Big Tech accountable for censorship, and increase transparency around tech companies' content moderation decisions.

The proposals in the agenda will be introduced as legislation in the coming weeks by House Judiciary Republicans after they consult House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California and other top Republicans."

Might be time to contact your representatives.

Part of the ongoing censorship and by Big Tech/corporations. The restrictions on free speech, thought and expression is tyranny. It’s outrageous that it’s happening, that it’s so widespread, and that it’s going unchecked. It’s not a simple example of a private company doing what they want. These are massive, publicity held companies that hold the key to information exchange for the mass population.

We’ll see what happens class action lawsuit that was just filed. I’m not holding my breath!
