Gas Price Check...

I always fill my tank at the halfway mark. Nothing to do with current events.........that's just my habit. Oh sure it means stopping at the station a bit more often for gas.......but I figure I'm gonna stop anyway for my morning coffee on the way to work......which BTW is only 6 miles from home.

Gas at my local Speedway is today at $4.09 Regular. Topping off from half a tank was about $24.50.

I know, I know.....I'm not saving any money at all......just a psychological thing that makes me FEEL as though I'm spending less:D

Filled up while going through Fort Smith, Ar today, $2.599/gallon for
87 oct
Make that $3.599 must have been wishful thinking when
I typed a 2.

Arco ( usually inexpensive ) was $9.99/gal today in Sacramento, CA. San Diego prices are edging up to over $7.00/gal. Ed

Two weeks from today, I will leave for a twice-postponed vacation in Germany. I have a rental car reserved, and will be driving over there for 17 days. Yesterday, the price of what we would consider "regular" gas hit the equivalent of $8.30 per gallon. It is what it is...

As fast as these fuel prices are rising, how long is it going to be before it becomes an economic issue where inflation and costs become too much for the majority of the public?

The government response to all this is a bit surreal…

Can't say for the majority, but a news article today said that a lot of Uber and Lyft drivers with larger vehicles are packing it in, even when it is their only job. One of the local flower shops says they now only make one run across town each day. If you order flowers after about 1000 hours and live in the far corners of the valley, you ain't getting your stuff until the next day.

The one’s I really feel for are all the small businesses like mom and pop family owned restaurants, hotels, bars, ect. They have been taking it in the you know what that last two years with little or no help. Now just as Covid fades and summer travel season is coming the country gets record high gas prices driving their costs up and killing travel. What more can they take?

it already has.
both my brothers live in NH and have 75 mile commute and
65 mile commute. both drive cars with respectable MPG but when you go from $35- a week to over a $100- it hurts the wallet.
my brother Matt has 3 kids under the age of 10 .
I feel for him.

Local Chevron had regular gas at $4.29. Regular without ethanol $4.51 and diesel $5.29. Got my diesel for the tractor at another place at $4.75. Hey it's 50 cents cheaper. Frank

Just hit the Sam’s Club here in Medford, NY again… $4.04/9 on Tuesday night, $4.19/9 today. Sam’s Club and Costco here are running the lowest prices. Fifteen cents increase in a 36 hour period!
