I went to the NRA's Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA yesterday. I couldn't help but notice the conspicuous absence of Smith & Wesson at the show. Colt, Sig, H&K, Ruger, Taurus, Mossberg, Savage, Taylors, and even High Point were there, but no S&W. Last year they had one of, if not the, largest booths at the show.

Regardless, the show was great! Lots to see and do there.

Maybe they put their effort into the recent SAAMI trade show? The Harrisburg show has always been an "outdoors show", with the majority of participants being outfitters and non gun specific manufacturers.

One year, they had some famous grizzly bear in a cage. Sign on the cage said 1000 pounds.

I stood there looking at him from about 10 feet away, and he me. Any fantasies I might have had about sticking my hand with a gun into a grizzly's mouth, or wrestling one with one hand while trying to shove a revolver into its ribs suffered a quick crash and burn. I think he even smiled, a little, at me, like he could recognize my shocked look..
